Stirring up fun & a digi freebie for you!

Hello Lovely people! I'm finally back with a little something to share with you. Today I've made a tag for my Simply Sassy Dt post. Here is....

...'Witches Cauldron' available at Funky Kits here. I'm going to be using this tag for a gift for my friends daughter who is really into this show called Monster High so I tried to color the little witch similar to her favorite character. I personally think I would now really love to have pink and black hair, lol.

My tag is pretty basic as I am just not that great at making extravagant tags like some of you(this is actually a lot for me,lol) but I'd really like to get better at this so I will keep trying. Anyway, my papers are DCWV and I made the sentiment myself...been on a little kick of that lately, and if you'd like to have it.....

....here you go, just please don't pass it off as your own and please send people back to my blog if they would like one. This one is in png form, but if you cant use that just e-mail me and I'll be happy to send you out a jpeg. Also, I haven't done this b4, but i think if u click the pick it should make it the original size, better for saving.

Lastly, here are my copics. a relatively short list for you today. Well, I guess that does it. It's gonna be pretty quite around here this week, as DD is sick and the kids have a lot going on at school. I may pop in with some more sentiments, but so far today DD is being pretty needy.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

Southern Girls Challenge #17

Hello lovely people!! It's time again for another challenge over at Southern Girls and this week we want to see you use Blue and Green. Here's what I've come up with....

This little beauty is Simply Sassy's 'Winking Student' found here and this card was also used for my SS DT inspiration post today. These awesome papers are from Basic Grey's Oliver collection and I just had to throw in that little bit of burgandy cause I thought it just made everything pop!

As you can see all of the papers are distressed...even the rolly roses, lol, but that's about it for techniques! Although it still took me forever this card came along quite nicely and I finally go to do this little thing where the image is partly outside the diecut. I have a cricut, so it's hard to reason myself into buying a bunch of spellbinders templates, but on a recent trip to JoAnn's I found 2-four die collection sets for $39 and I couldn't hardly pass that up now could I. :)

Ok, back to the card...

Here's a closer view of the little darling. Sorry it's not such a great pic, apparently I just couldn't get the camera straight yesterday. I also regreat to inform you I forgot to take a pic of my copics, sorry about that. I can tell you tought that if you like the darkend portions on her face and body my darkest color was YR02 I really find I like the look of it much better than E11 that everyone else seems to use.

I even did up the inside this time around! This is a pocket with a tag and  there's going to be a sentiment by the flourish, I just haven't decided what yet.

I guess that does it! Thanks for stopping by today! Make sure you ceck out what the rest of the SG Dt has come up with for your and our fabby sponsors Digital Delights for NZ/AU and Meljens for Int.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

***Candy Time***

This is a sticky, please scroll down for newer posts, thank you!

Hey all! It's time for me to share some candy! I've been really blessed this last year been on some great DT's, made some awesome new friends, and learned lots of new things and it's time to give away some candy.
I made my first post February 2010 and it was just me talking, so I could get something up here, lol. My plan when I started this blog was to get back into scrapbooking and get my kids' albums finished. WELL, my first couple of challenges were for scrapbooking, but then I noticed card making seemed to encompass more of blogland, so I gave it a go. As they say the rest is history. The stamps and copics started coming in and this whole year has been a learning roller coaster! I've always loved coloring and am so glad I found this craft...now to find the time to get those scrapbooks done, lol

Well, I guess that's enough out of me, if you'd like to be in the running to win my candy here are the rules:

1. Be a current follower or become a follower of my blog
2. Post my candy pic in your side bar with a link back to my blog
3. Put your name in Mr. Linky

That's it and you will get the chance to win:

MME 6x6 pads Tickled Pink and True Blue
MME True Blue clear stamps
Basic Grey Oliver and Olivia 6x6 pads
BoBunny Crush 6x6 pad
Stampabilities border stamps Polka& Lace

Simply Sassy New Release Blog Hop

Hello all and welcome to our Simply Sassy for Sugar Nellie New Release Blog Hop! If you've arrived here from Anita's blog then you're on the right track if you've just happened upon my blog and want to start at the begining please go here to the Simply Sassy DT blog for the complete blog list.

If you follow the Simply Sassy DT blog you know we've been giving you some sneaks this week and this new set of stamps is nothing short of spectacular!! Today I am showcasing...

.....'Butterflies & Pigtails' and I Looovvveee her!! I think this is how I see my daughter in a few years. Anyway, my card ended up being much more simple than I'd envisioned as I was going to make a wonderful pop-up but alas, hubby's post op(eye surgery) has not been as easy going as expected so I've not had the time I thought I would to make it. I hope you like this all the same.

The background I've used here is a mixture of two of Make it Crafty's Digital Images that I blended together and moved around to get the look I was after. This was a little time consuming, but I'm quite happy with the end result. It is colored with copics for the rainbow and flowers and chalks for the rest.
As for our pretty little girl she doesn't naturally have freckles, but I thought she needed some so she got a few(again probably honing in on how I think my DD will look, lol) and for whatever reason she needed to be REALLY blond, lol (she's very smart though). I love pink and white together so I left her dress at that

Some close-ups: A better view of the background, now you can see ALL the stickles ...there's tons and I used 3 different kinds: stardust, crystal, & diamond, each stratgically placed, the flowers,  and  I've also placed the top layer on 1/8" pop-up dots.

That will do it for me. Hope I didn't blabber too long. Next on your hop will be Tracy. Don't forget you can get all these beauties today at Funky Kits and there's also a special going if you buy the whole set. Jump on over here if you wanna check that out!

Thanks for hopping along with us today and have a great day!

Simply Sassy Sneak Peek...

Today I've got a little ......

'Carnival Balloon' to share with you. Isn't she the cutest??  I know, I know, I say that about all of them, lol! I hope you guy have been saving your pennies cause you are gonna love this realease! There are gonna be peaks on the DT Blog all week so be sure to check them out!

On to the card then...

When I started this I knew I wanted to use yellow...I think all those Easter cards out there are getting to me,lol. Then I was further inspired by these fab papers from the MME Fine and Dandy: True Blue paper pad.  I also decided to try out some clouds for the first time, so they are a bit of a work in progress. I don't have lots of cloudy colors, so these are a mix of copics and chalks. I don't think they turned out too bad for my first go around, but I'm gonna keep working on it as I def like the look! The grass is also a mix of copics and chalks. Beyond that I decided to leave her clean and simple.

Here are my copics...think you should be able to figure those out, but if you have any questions please feel free to ask!

Lastly, some Sassy News!! So get your hopping shoes on this Sunday that 4am CST here in the US.

Thanks for stopping by today!
Have a great day!

Creative Inspirations #57

Hello everyone! It's time again for another challenge over at Creative Inspirations! This week the theme is Easter and our sponsors are:

Photobucket
with a $10 voucher to their store!

and:

with stamp #N263 I Serenade You

So, here is what I have come up with....

This is a reconditioned(for lack of a better word) tootsie roll bank. A little modge podge and some paper to cover, a few trims and a cute little mini. I was thinking I would make these for all my kids but seeing as I have mostly boys and only girl maggie minis this little cutie has gone off to a friends daughter.

Here's a different view. so you can see those flowers a bit better. While I was trying to get a close up my program froze up and I couldn't get it to close up so I'm afraid this is all I've got for you.

I think that wraps it up. I have these papers for ages and the lace is from my local craft store. The flowers are WOC and the stamp is Hello Tilda mini from Magnolia-Licious. Thanks for stopping by today. I hope you have enjoyed my little project. Be sure to stop by and see what the rest of the DT have made!

Havea great day!

Sassy Inspiration and some News

Hello my blogging friends! I'm finally back with another card for you.

Today I've used 'Best Witches' and kept her pretty simple. This little lady has a rather long journey ahead of her and I wanted to be sure the embellies would stay on so I tried to choose appropriately. I used only one sheet of Dp cause I love the pattern and there was so much going on I really didn't think I needed to add to it.

Here's a close up. She is colored with copics to match the paper and I really enjoyed using this color combo, so don't be suprised if you see it again soon!

Here are my copics.

I also wanted to mention about.......

Here is what Maria has to say:

I'm having a dt call for one designer to join us for release 7 and 8 of Simply Sassy.
We have now 5 sets over at Funky Kits now and set 6 is on it's way to the dt soon, so the guest will be on for about 2 months but as we all love inspiration you are welcome to start right after being chosen using your older Simply Sassy stamps, but you need to stay on for about two months starting the release /preview of set 7. The guest designer will post in the Simply Sassy blog and make 1-2 tutorials within their time as GDT.
Earlier experience from a design team is not needed but I will be looking at coloring skills and good pictures of your cards. Yes you need a blog to be playing along.

What do you do to enter?
Make a card with THIS sketch using a

Simply Sassy stamp

So to those of you that wanted to last time but couldn't or did but didn't make it here's another chance! I look forward to seeing your entries!

Thanks for stopping by!

Simply Sassy Fun Blog Hop!!!

Hello all and welcome to the Simply Sassy for Sugar Nellie 'Just for Fun' Blog Hop! Maria has asked us to put together a little hop for you all showing off some of the older Sassy's and we all thought that was a fantastic idea. So, if you've arrived here from Kellie's blog you're on the right track. I am a little behind here so if you've had to come back I do apologize, but I hope you find it woth it. So, without further delay, here's what I've come up with...

You can't really tell from this view, but untying that ribbon opens up a whole slew of suprises!! I've used my all time favorite Sassy 'Fairy Tale' available at Funky Kits here. I've also left her a little plain and simple due to the weight(I mean actual weight of the things inside).

The is technically page two(seems I forgot to take a pic of page 1 and now that they're all uploaded it's too late), but page one of the fun stuff and this is a large matchbook type coloring book. There are 8 stamped images on perforated paper and the matchbook is stuck on with glue dots so the reciepient can take it off and to wherever she would like. The pages are also perforated so they can be easily torn out.

Next page of fun stuff is some crayons, a tape runner, and a few flower s all attached with glue dots so they are also removeable. So, what do you think come next??

Did you guess it? There are 3 small pre folded cards and envelopes, some bling and pearls, and it's all wrapped up in some twine she can also use!

Here it is, all laid out. I left the coloring book cover blank so the reciepient could personalize it herself, but if done for a younger child I would go ahead and do it.

Here's a view of the matchbook open, and that completes my project! Sorry I forgot the sentiment page picture, but you weren't missing much, lol I could add much more than I did because of the weight and instead of cardstock I used tag board figuring it's a bit sturdier.

Ok, I do or will have a little candy for you, but since I've been sick all week I haven't had a chance to get it yet. If you'd like to receive a little suprise gift from me please leave me a comment and I'll draw a winner after the hop ends.

Now, your next stop is Erica and if you ever get lost along the way you can always find the complete list at the Simply Sassy Dt Blog

I think that about covers everything! Thanks for hopping along with us today! As always if you have any questions please fell free to ask and I will get back to you asap!

Have a great day!
