Simply Angellic

Hello my lovely followers! Hope you all had a fabulous weekend and your Monday is off to a good start!
Today I've got a wonderful Sassy to share with you! Here is...

...'Tiffany' as an angel. I got the wonderful wings idea from my teammate Paula who added butterfly wings and I just loved it! I found these angel like wings in some really old stamps from Fancy Pants and thought they would go wonderfully! I also thought a card like this needs to stand up, so it's also an...

...easel card. This isn't the best of views, but I'm terrible at taking pic's of these, sorry. It is very pretty IRL.

These gorgeous papers are from Kaiser Kraft and since I originally had purple in mind these were perfect! I wasn't thinking flowers for this one and happily I came across this prima butterfly I got ages ago and then I found this leftover prima swirl and though perfect! Lastly, I added some stickles for and even more fairytaleish effect.

I really went outside my comfort zone when coloring her, but I'm really glad I did. I'm loving the white hair and grayish eyes and I can't wait to experiment with more fun options!

Here are my copics. There's a lot there, but I had actually first colored her skirt a lighter purple, but then decided it didn't contrast enough with the background so I colored over it with the darker BV's I again did some extra shading with some gray pencils too.

Well, that's all for today. Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

Southern Girls Challenge #28

Hello all! It's time again for another challenge over at Southern Girls. This week our theme is pretty east as it's Anything Goes! Our wonderful sponsors this week are Robyn's Fetish and  Paper Pretties. I got the pleasure of working with a cute image from Robyn's Fetish and here's what I made...

... a nice CAS card for me this week.  I've left the sentiment blank so it can be used for whatever when I need it. I actually colored this to match some other papers, but after putting the blue in there I didn't like it and luckily these(DCWV) worked ok.

Here's  closer view of puppy over the wall. I gotta say I'm pretty happy with how it turned out color wise as I really wasn't sure about the bricks to begin with.

Well, that's all for me today, be sure to stop by the Southern Girls blog to see what the rest of the girls have come up with!

Have a great day!

Simply Sweet Sundae!

Hello everyone, I hope your Monday is going well. DD is still sleeping, so I gotta say I'm happy...I really function better with a little time to myself in the morning. Anyway, today I've made a fun card...

... using the fabulous new Sassy image called Sundae Service. Oh' I just adore her and I think she's going to make a lot of great cards. I was so excited to have these fabulous papers from BoBunny( Sweet Tooth collection ) to go with her. I love the colors in this paper and really enjoyed coloring her and making this card. I did follow the current monthly sketch at CLP, tho I had to change it a bit because of the design on my bottom paper, so I hope it's still ok.

Here's a closer view of Sundae...

I used some prismacolor pencils on her to darken the shadows and actually change the color of her skirt...it wasn't quite right with the copics. I am totally hooked on this technique, it adds wonderful depth and it was tons easier to do the shading under her...I"m sure I'm not the first one to mess that up and it's so nice to be able to erase if you have to :)

Here's the copics. Yep, I used all of them in some way or another...kind of crazy considering it's such a small image.

These are the pencils I used.

930(magenta), 994(process red), 995(mulberry)
To change the color of her skirt to what you now see

1074(French grey), 1083(putty beige)
for shading around and under her

947(dark umber)-hair, 905(aquamarine)-leg warmers

That's all for today. Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful day!

Simply Sassy New Release Blog Hop

Hello Everyone and welcome to the Simply Sassy new release blog hop! If you've come her from the lovely       , you're on the right track. If you've just happened upon my blog and want to start at the begining please go the Simply Sassy Dt Blog where you'll find the complete hop list. I hope you are enjoying your journey so far and here's what I have to share with you....

... the wonderful 'Love Letters'...perfect for many crafty things!! I saw this saw this stationary box ages ago and knew I wanted to try one and FINALLY I got the perfect stamp! So here's what it looks like opened...

Sorry for the less than stellar pics. This took me a while to make and almost every table in our house got covered with paper in the process.  I used a lot of the same paper so it's a little hard to see, but there's two small holders on the outside and one large one behind it.  I've got some tags started for one of the holders but didn't have the ribbon I wanted and one small 3x3 card in the other...just didn't have time to get it all done. I also started a larger card and put it in there just so you can see what a neat set this is going to be. Here's the tutorial I followed, but I changed a few things as far as the notebook and pens go.

I will leave you with a closer view of Love Letters. Sorry I don't have copics as I was working on several different things at the time I colored her.
If you want a chance to win this beauty leave me a comment before Monday the 19th at noon UK (that's 6am CST in the US)

Well, that's all for me. I hope you've enjoyed my project and now your off to the wonderfully talented Alina.  Remember the new stamps are available today at...

Enjoy the rest of your hop!

Sweet Sassy Sneak!

It's time again for Sassy sneak week over at the Sassy DT blog and today I have the pleasure of sharing with you this....

... wonderful new image called 'Travel Lite.' Boy, don't you just love that beautiful flowing hair! I wish I could look like this when I traveled, but I tend towards comfort and am usually wearing some serious lounge wear, lol
Here's the card I made with her...

I'm working a little outside my norm again...can't remember the last time I used red, but I really loved this combination of papers and decided to just go with it. I even got to use one of my newer cricut cartridges(flowers) for the first time, so that was nice. We've all learned by now that I am obsessed with matching colors and copic red does not look like that paper(MME), so I set out to get it right! Lucky for me the first thing worked, all I had to do was put down a layer of E31 b4 my reds R29,27,24. You can use the E31 more if needed after applying the red, but pay close attention so you don't get that glossy look. The sentiment and the calendar stamps are from whimsy and I think really added to the card.

That's all for today, but remember release day is this Saturday, so stay tuned!

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

Southern Girls 1st Anniversay Blog Hop!!!

Can you believe we are a year old?, and what a fantastic year it has been with the support from all our wonderful sponsors, and to be on the best Design Team anyone could wish for. In celebration of this, we have an amazing bloghop with some of our fantastic regular sponsors giving away fabulous prizes. You should have arrived from Alicia's blog, if not, head back to www.southerngirlschallenge.blogspot.com where you will find a full hop list.

For this challenge the theme is layers...a tough one for me, but here's what I came up with...

I managed to get the layers down w/o too much trouble, yay!! However, I got a little carried away with making the scene and so it's quite large and adding lots of stuff just didn't feel right. So, clean and simple layers is my choice for today!  But hey, I had to layer the images too, so that's two for one, lol.
I have used an image(well, 3, I had to go buy more, lol) from Deb's Creations. I was given the adorable Ebony(the foremost image) to use, but I got it in my head that I'd like to make a scene so I sought out some more. I decided to purchase 'Boo & Snookie' (litttle boy and snail) and 'Ally and Beeble'(girl and ladybug) to go along with 'Ebony'. Deb's Creations is giving away 2 Emerald Faerie Digi to one lucky lady who 1 - comments on my blog and 2 - enters the challenge at Southern Girls.

Here's a closer view of my scene. This was colored entirely with copics and I added some extra grass here and there so it flowed a little better. The background image I used came from Make it Crafty and is called ' Tulip Garden'.  Sorry, no copics today as there were just too many to try and get a good pic, but if there's something specific you'd like to know just ask and I should be able to figure it out.

So, to recap.... the rules are simple, make sure you make a card and enter on Southern Girls Challenges, also leave me a comment, and on the 20th of September I will draw a random name, that will be a winner of the sponsor that I am showcasing.
Now, head on over to Tracy, have fun......

Two Sassy's one post

Hey all! Sorry I've been soo absent. i made it to MN for my Sister's wedding and I was going non-stop until it finally went off. Of course the fun doesn't stop there as it rained on her outside wedding and both DD and I got colds and now I'm finally feeling a little better. I did manage to get my Sassy Dt blog posts done, but not here. So you may have seen these before, but if not here is Fairy Tale....

... from last weeks post.   I think it's safe to say this is really different from anything I've made before, but I really like it the more I look at it. I came across this combination of papers purely by accident, but I decided to throw caution to the wind and go with my gut...I'm glad I did

Here's the inside...filled with even more different stuff(for me)lol. I'm still not certain about that tag, but the striped paper underneath it is also a pocket so I can move it if I choose. I'm going to put a sentiment of some kind on the left panel, but I haven't decided what yet.

Here's a closer view of Fairy Tale and even though I don't remember the color's I used for her hair...she's been colored for a while, I'm def going to try and do it again. Ok, well, i'm not gonna keep blabbering on since there's another Sassy to show you.

Here is....

...'Team Spirit'. I've kept her pretty simple because I've wrapped her border in ribbon(making it very thick) and I've given the card this...

...special fold. I love these half easels, but it's been a really long time since I made one. Those flowers are from wild orchid and the pretty sentiment came from the 6x6 stack i got the pretty prima papers from.

Here's a closer view of how I colored  her...as best I could to match the papers.  I actually tried to color her with the no black lines look, but I decided she's a little too detailed for my first try at that. I'm going to try it again with Fairy Tale as there's less going on there.

That's all for today. Thanks for sticking around for the long post, I hope you enjoyed my cards.

Have a great day!
