My supposed to be Tilda...

Have you ever had one of those cards that's intended to be for this or that and it doesn't exactly work out? Well, this, is one of those cards. Firstly, I wanted to enter the Totally Tilda challenge of Chocolate and it started out ok, but ended up a little more carmel...hope it's still acceptable. Second, I was going for vintage, but I'm not sure I got there, lol. What do you think? I was hoping to use the Papertake Weekly sketch, but I def didn't get that, though, I tried and tried. Lastly, MDUC is have a Christmas challenge...I'm pretty sure this will qualify

I made Tilda's background on my computer with the help of some frames by Rhonda Fahrer. I colored her with copics(pic of those below), I propped her up on the frame pinned on foot down and left one forward so it's as if she's swining her legs.

Here's what it looks like when opened
sorry it's so blurry.

The saying...I came up with.

Copics
Well, there you have it...I think I'm happy with it. Well, all except for those colors never seem to blend well for me...don't know what the deal is with that. The background paper is also one I made with the help of another Rhonda Fahrer layer...think I'm really starting to like those things. The carmel cardstock is DCWV. The punch I used is EK Success. Lace is from my stash and the flowers are Wild Orchid. K, so, now what do you think...does it work or did I totally bomb this one? Thanks for stopping by!
Have a great day!

Lexi's Creations Challenge- Paper Piecing

Good morning Everyone! It's Monday and time for another challenge at Lexi's and this week we wanna see some paper piecing. I really had fun making this one! Lexi's new girls are sooo cool! Anyway, everything but the bag on my girl 'Melissa'...which you can find here...was paper pieced. I pieced the purse twice to give it a little extra dimension. Melissa's shirt and all the background DP's are from Basic Gray's Koshi collection and the purse and shoes are regular paper that I colored with copics and pieced on. My card also follows this weeks sketch at Simon Says. Well, that's it for me, make sue you stop by and see the wonderful creations the rest of the DT has made. Hope you all had a wonderful weekend!
Thanks for stopping by!

Tilda's feeling blue for christmas

Happy Sunday everyone! Hope this day is finding you well! It's July 25th and time for another Magnolia-licious Christmas All Year Long blog hop. It's also my birthday today, so happy birthday to me! I kept my card pretty simple today...mostly because I completely forgot about this and just finished it now(it's 3am, I will be tired tomorrow), but also because I had this idea to use this tilda sitting on a snowflake like she is. I was kind of at a loss after getting her on the snowflake...this is probably partially due to the fact that I didn't start working on this until midnight.
Here is is close-up of the sweet girl. I wasn't sure about the color combo I used B21&93, but I think it turned out ok. I'm not sure where the paper is from..I got it in a pack ages ago, but all the snowflakes were cut with my circut and the ribbon is from my stash. I am too tired to list all the copics but I will try to hop back on here later and get that done. Ok, so, if you've come here thru the blog hop your next stop is Tanja and I'm sure she'll have something wonderful for you. That's it for me for now, if you have any questions please feel free to ask.
Hope you have a great day and thanks for stopping by!

Lexi's Challenge #18 Stitching

Hey, all! It's Monday, and time for another challenge at Lexi's! This week we wanna see stitching...faux or real...it doesn't matter, just show us what you got! The sponsor this week is Joanna Sheen and the winner gets a 10 voucher to her store!

I used Lexi's Easter Egg Lillie and you can find her here. I know this is supposed to be an Easter image, but I'm going to use this for a 'new baby' card...I'm working on a 'Just Hatched' sentiment to put on the front.

Here is a close-up so you can see the faux stitching around Lillie. All the pieces for the card were were cut with my cricut(create a critter and storybook cart.) and the image was colored with copics. The pink is RV00 and the yellow is Y000. The bow was made with a bowdabra and the flower is prima. Well, that's it for me, make sure you check out what the rest of the DT has for you and join in on the challenge! Thanks for stopping by!

Have a great day!

Card and frame

Hey all! It's been a while, but I have been working on a little something and I"m finally ready to show it to you.
This is a picture frame and a wedding card I've made for my SIL and her husband. I've got a lot of pictures for this, so I'm just gonna post them and do any long explanations at the end.
Full view of the frame. The colors are terrible cause the paper was shimmery and I just could not get it to photograph well. The first photo is the closest I could get to the actual colors...hate it when that happens!

Flowers close -up. This is actually about right with the colors. All those flowers have been inked on the edges. You can find the template for the larger part here, and the centers are from Wild Orchid.
Criss cross card
Made my opening a little different

Pulled out
The inside stands alone. People like to display their cards and I wanted to give that option with this, so I added a little piece on the back that will allow this card to do that.

This is the little stand I made for the back.
Lastly I have a close-up of this adorable wedding couple. This image is so perfect for the card as my SIL and her husband had a small intimate wedding.
Ok, so that's it. Sorry for the load of pics, but I wasn't sure which ones to post. The papers are DCWV Luxury stack. The punch on the card is fiskers and the shapes around the couple were cut with my circut. Pearls are from my stash. Please forgive my terrible handwriting...this paper is slick and I couldn't print out on it.
The papers on the frame are from the same paper stack and the corners were cut with my cricut, storybook cartridge. The swirly pearl is prima and the ribbony stuff is from JoAnn's.
That's it for me today. Hope you have enjoyed my project! I will hopefully have something more for you in a couple of days. Thanks for stopping by!
Have a great day!

Butterflylove

It's me again! Today's card is features Butterflylove from Stitchy Bear Stamps this weeks sponsor for SMC. This is a little step out of the box for me as I don't normally do these types of images, but I really enjoyed coloring her. I knew that I wanted to try a darker card with her and when I sat down to color her I thought these papers would be perfect, so I tried to pick colors that would match well.

Here is a close-up. Those wings took me forever! They are a mixture of the lightests purples and grays and it took a long time to get them a way I liked them. I don't know if you can tell, but I have her placed with the lower backside of her dress in the frame, so it looks like she's walking out of it.
Would you believe I actually got the idea to put an open frame around her from my 6yr old son. He wanted to help me with my card, so I had him helping me go through my scraps to find something grayish and I found a couple of frames that made their way in there. I put the frames on my desk to put away later. After I was satisified with my findings I was just looking at everything and DS goes "I know, where's the girl?" then rifled through the papers to find her. Upon finding her he grabbed the frame and said"you can put her on...oh nope, she's too big." However he was on to something so I played around with the idea.

Well, I kept the card pretty simple since she has so much sparkle on her wings, so that about covers it. The frame and the words were cut with my circut...Storybook cart. I think the bling is Basic Gray and the papers are Glitz. Punch is MS. Hope you have enjoyed my card.
Thanks for stopping by!

Have a great day!
