Creative Inspirations #52

Hey All! It's time again for another challenge over at Creative Inspirations. This week we have the theme of Love, just in time for Valentines Day! This weeks sponsors are Quixotic Paperie and Di's Digi Downloads . I actually made this weeks card to enter a couple of challenges and so it took me forever, but I think it turned out pretty good. I've got a few pics to share, so I'll get one with it...

.... this is 'Love Grows' from LOTV's latest release. Aren't they just the cutest, so love them! Ok, so firstly my card follows the sketch at Papertake Weekly and secondly LOTV's challenge of 'Anything but a Square'. I was gonna try and go for three and do another challenge out there that wanted Valentine's with no pink or red, but it was not happening and I had to scrub it...hate it when that happens!

Here's a close-up. The background is a mix of copics and chalk, the grass is chalk, and the rest is copics. Would you look at how much pink ended up being on this card, lol

I don't usually get my inside done, but I made this extra little fold I wanted to show you. I cut my main pieces with my circut and I didn't want the bent when the card opened so I took a strip of coordinating paper, scored it, folded it, then glued it all down....Now, no bending, Yay!

Here's a close-up of the flowers. These were all colored in some form with copics so they would match.

Almost done, but I wanted to share with you this label I made. I was thinking about buying me one of these stamps, but I thought I'd have one last go at it and I'm quite happy with the end result. Now I can resize it if needed and easily print out a sheet of them. So, if you'd like one you may just be able to do it yourself and save $20, you got nothing to loose if you don't try:)

Lastly, my copics! Boy, is that a list or what! Now I'm pretty sure I used most of these but a couple from the one I scrubbed may have made their way in there, so if it seems really out of place I probably didn't use it, sorry.

That's finally everything I have to say and show. I hope you've enjoyed my card. Be sure to stop by and see what the rest of the DT have come up with. Thanks for stopping by!

Have a great day!

Southern Girls Challenge #11

Hello everyone, it's time for another Southern Girls challenge! This week we want to see some dry embossing!
Here's what I came up with...
This here is 'Birgitta on a Tree Stump' a digi from ATS. I've had this little girl colored up for some time now and I was in a bit of a rush to get this card done, so she came in real handy. The circular cardstok behind her is where my embossing comes in and I did that with my cuttlebug. The sentiment is computer generated...I'm so glad I started doing that, I'm terrible at stamping sentiments, they always seem to get messed up.

Here's a close-up. You can see I've stickled the flowers and around the circle for extra definition. Unfortunately, I can't tell you what colors I've used as I didn't write them down, but I hope you like her. I'm really liking the blue, I don't use it that often and it's a nice change.
Well, that's it, I'm done for the day! Thanks for stopping by and be sure to check out what the rest of the DT has made for you!
Have a great day!

Winner...

Ok everyone, I went to random.org and got me a number. That number was #37 who is........ Leyla please contact me within 48hrs to claim your prize. If i don't hear from you I will choose a new winner.
Have a great day!

Skater Girl

Good morning everyone! Did all you sassy fans enjoy the hop yesterday?? Seems like it, we really had a great turn out, thanks for supporting us! I'm back today with my regular Sassy inspiration and I've got a little 'Skater Girl' to share with you.

I did this one backwards again! When I looked at her I got a vision of what I wanted her to look like and I HAD to go with it! Her cheeks are showing up real bright here, not so much IRL, but they were a tad darker than I wanted, IDK why. Anyway, I'm still trying to think outside the box and I really want to be able to cater to all out there, so I hope you like her.

I got lucky this time around and had some papers by Glitz design that matched perfectly. This is a really cool stack, called glamor, I got at Hobby Lobby if any of you want to see if you can get your hands on one. I kept the design clean and simple again as she's a skater girl and doesn't like all that fru, fru stuff, lol. In order to make it stand out a bit more I put stickles on the edges of all the cardstock and on the flowers. There's also some one her clothes...you can probably see it if you enlarge it.

Here's the inside. Again, pretty simple, but I really like it and I'm loving these colors together. Here I've inked the edges of the DP's to make them stand out a bit more and stickled the flowers. The swirly thing was cute with my circut.

Last but not least, TaDah, I remembered to photograph my copics! Yay, me! (anyone else hear London Tipton in their heads just now?) Apparently I watch way to much Disney channel, lol. Anyway, you've got the colors now, you can play around with it or ask me if you have any questions.

I think that wraps it up for now, I'll be back later this afternoon with another card for you. Twice in one day, that's gotta be a record for me, lol. I'm also working on a really cool card for my mom's birthday and hopefully I'll have that to show you soon!

Thanks for stopping by and Have a great day!

Little Light of Mine

Monday's, uuuggghhh, don't you just hate 'em! Well, I'm finally feeling like my old self again and thought it's high time I share something one here. Firstly though I'd like to say welcome and thank you to all of my new followers I will try to get around to all of your blogs this week and I hope you find inspiration here! I did manage to make one card this past week though I was feeling so cruddy I'm not to sure about it, but what's done is done and here is Little Light of Mine by Simply Sassy......

I followed the current Sugar Bowl sketch, but added some embellishments. So, I like the flowers, but I'm not so sure about that butterfly anymore. What do u think, does it need to go, should I find something else to put there?? Anyway, I've colored her to math those Basic Gray kioshi papers, love them!

Here's a little closer view. Sorry, I did not get a pic of the copics I used as I was just trying to get it done so I could go back to laying down.
Well, that's it for me today. We are having a Simply Sassy new release blog hop tomorrow so be sure to stop by for that. Wednesday I'll have more Sassy inspiration and it's Southern Girls challenge time. A busy week this week, so I hope you will join me! Thanks for stopping by!

Simply Sassy Inspiration 2

Hey All!! I'm back again with some more Sassy Inspiration for you! I haven't posted this close together in ages, but it feels good to be back to getting some real crafting done! Anyway, today I wanted to share with you Simply Sassy....

....'Pillow Talk'. Isn't she gorgeous!! What I wouldn't give to look like her, lol. My card today was supposed to follow a sketch, but it wasn't going well, so I tossed it out and went with the flow. All the papers and embellishments came from an SET 'Chocolate' pack and boy did that make putting this together so much easier!

Here's a close-up. I think I may be finding a new rythm...normally as you all know I get the image all colored up and then search for paper...this hasn't been working well for me,lol. Well, with my last two cards I colored just the skin and hair and took it from there and I'm happy to report it's made the job a lot easier. I don't know if I'll ever be able to pick the paper first cause I usually look at something and an idea for this or that pops into my head and I gotta do something with it!! Ok, well, I wanted to tell you that the paper shes on and the one with what looks like plus signs on it have both had their edges inked and then heat embossed. Other than that, the paper is what you see there.

Well, I will let you go for now, but I'll be back tomorrow with a new Creative Inspirations Challenge and a couple of days after that we'll be starting a CI blog hop with lots of candies involved, so stay tuned!

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

My first Simply Sassy Inspiration Post

Hello there!! Welcome to my first Inspirational post for Simply Sassy. We don't have the new stamps yet but we were too excited to get started so we thought we'd start out showcasing some of the older ones. I've got a lot of pics for you today, so I'll keep it short and sweet. Here's my card...

I just love this Fairy Tale image, she is def my fav....probably has something to do with my mom always putting me in dresses(seriously, I didn't wear pants to school until 3rd grade). Not to mention dress-up was my favorite thing to play and oh how my mother indulged me by buying fancy dresses on clearence at bridal shops. Yes, I was spoiled, I'll admit it.

Ive been seeing these different sort of easel cards around and I've been wanting to try it out fora while, so I thought what better time then now. I couldn't decide what pic was better , so above is the side view and here's the front view...

These fab papers are Basic Gray's Cappella and they are sooo pretty! I've distressed all the edges with my Tim Holtz distressing tool and then colored the edges with a couple of copics. I've also colored the pearls and the two small flowers with copic( these match much better IRL)
Here's your close-up! I'm working on my darker skin tones and I absolutely LOVE how she turned out! I think I will stick with these color choices...if I can rememberwhat they were, lol. Doesn't her hair look fab in those dark browns! Oh' what i would give to have some color to my skin, but no, I'm about as white as you can get and of course I couldn't get a tan to save my life!!
Anyway, sorry for blabbing, here's the inside. I'm starting to second guess that button...it's looking very out of place to me now. I already took it off once and tried some flowers, but they sat too high. Hmmmmm, will have to think about it. There is a LOT of distressing going on on the indside of this card and I just kept adding different colors til I was satisified, so I have no clue what to tell you about that. All the embellishments here are from my stash.
Almost forgot, here's the copics...
Ok, well, I think that about does it. Sorry if I blabbered on there...so much for the short and sweet 'eh. Well, I hope you liked my card and plese don't forget to stop by the Simply Sassy blog and see what the other girls have been up to this week, you won't want to miss out!
Thanks for stopping by!

Southern Girls Challenge

Hey All! Hope you're having a wonderful day! I just wanted to stop in and give you a little reminder about the current Southern Girls challenge. It's an easy one this time around cause Anything Goes.
You've got just about a week left to enter and there are some fabulous prizes up for grabs! Our Int. sponsor is Debs Creations who has some awesome images exclusive to her store(you can see some of them on the SG site) and our AUS/NEZ sponsor is our very own Trace and Lou who will have a wonderful prize package!
Now, I was hoping to have a new card to share with you today, but DD is teething AGAIN and of course has a cold of top of it, so she's been UBER crabby! So, I thought I'd share with you a couple of layouts I did and framed for my sisters for Christmas
This here is my little sister Cheryl with our dad. My sisters are at the age where they're making money and don't have any attachments and pretty much buy what they want, so I was looking for something meaningful this Christmas. Our father passed away when I was 15 and my sisters were about 5 and 7, so I thought this would be something they would appreciate.
I made the flower with some lace I had and otherwise just used some trim and buttons for the rest of the adornments. I also distressed the edges of all the photos. I'm sure you've seen some much better layouts around there, but I'm a little out of practice...I discovered cardmaking, lol.

This I made for the younger of my sister's, Ashley. Again, I kept the embellishments simple as I wanted the focus to be on the pictures. The pearls are mostly a set of Prima's that I cut up to spread around and then added a few of my own. I believe the flower is from Craft Brulee, but I will have to look that up to be sure.

Well, that's all for me today, please be sure to stop by and check out the Southern Girls challenge. Thanks for stopping by!

Have a great day!

Creative Inspirations#50

Happy New Year Everyone! I've been busy with Christmas and spending time with the Family for the last couple of weeks, but I'm finally back and it's Challenge Time at Creative Inspirations! For our first challenge of the New Year we would like you to use something New.
Our sponsors for this challenge are Simon Says Stamp with a $10 voucher to spend in their store and Wiff of Joy has also donated a stamp for the winner.
Here's my card...
I've used one of my new Sugar Nellie-Simply Sassy stamps...isn't she fabulous!! I've colored her with copics to match these fabulous new Cosmo Cricket papers I got...Love them!! I've followed the sketch at the Sugar Bowl, so I'll also be entering that challenge
Here's a close-up for you. I noticed after I'd already had this all put together that I didn't give her rosy cheeks, but I've decided I like it this way...guess I'm just gonna be a little different this week, lol As far as colors go, I couldn't begin to touch on that as there was tons of blending to find just the right shade of blue/green for her dress!
Well, I think that about does it for me today. I hope you've enjoyed my card and I look forward to seeing your creations. Thanks for stopping by!
Have a great day!
xxAutumn
