Thought I should say...

...I am not ignoring my blog right now, I've caught strep throat! Oh' it's miserable and now my ear is starting to hurt, I so hope the meds kick in soon! At any rate with a little help from God and modern medicine I will hopefully be back to crafting in no time. At the very least I should be back here for the Simply Sassy blog hop on Saturday! See you all then!

Creative Inspirations #56

Hello Everyone! It's time for another challenge over at Creative Inspirations and this week this week we want to see something for MOM. I took a little different route this week and have this...

...to share with you. This began with some dandelions my son picked for me... I know if your a mom you've probably received a few yourself. Upon receiving those flowers I thought u know this could be something I may be able to write about one day. I do write from time to time, but it's not something I force, but when I feel it I feel it.

So, it finally happened, I was watching my computer go thruough one of those slideshows and the pics kept popping up and soon words started forming in my head. A little tweeking here and there and I had something I liked. Then came the hard part, putting it with the picture. After several different options I finally came up with this and it goes to my mom who I know shares these memories with and of me which makes it doubly special.

I'm sure you can't read the little poem this size, but click the pic and it will make it big enough to read if you like.

Guess that about does it. Make sure you check out our fabulous sponsor JoannA ShEEn  and see what the rest of the DT has to show you, there's really a great variety you won't want to miss.

Thanks for stopping by!
Have a great day!

A little something different...

... a Tea-Light box card.

I used the fabulous Bad Hare Day. There's not a lot of room for embellishments on here so it's lite on stuff, but I did the best with the space I had. The papers are Prima Jack and Jill. and I colored her to match them.

Here's a close-up of her. I've used different colored for her skin...I'd like to try to achieve something similiar to the look of distress inks, so I'll keep working on it. I've also colored her outfit a bit differently. She's supposed to have an apron, but I like the way this looks.

Here's a side view of the card opened. The inside's not quite finished yet, but we'll get there when I know what it's gonna be used for. I've used a ribbon to hold my box to the card so you can untie it and put the box where you'd like.

A closer view of the box shows the six candels inside.
Close-up of the flowers

My copics! A much shorter list than yesterday, lol.

Here's the box template I made for the tutorial I did on the Simply Sassy DT Blog. The short of this is to cut around the outside then scor on all lines. Cut along all dark lines and fold along all dotted lines.

The card measurements are 6" x 10" then score 4&1/2" in from both sides. Decorate as you like. For the full tutorial please visit the Sassy blog .

Think that about does it. Hope you've enjoyed my project! Thanks for stopping by!

Have a great day!

Southern Girls Challenge #15

Hey all! I said I'd be back today, so here i am with my Southern Girls challenge post. This week we would like to see some animals. Our fabulous NZ/Auss sponsor is Teddy Bo and they have generously donated some stamps for the DT to use and I got this...

TeddyBea is her name and it looks like she is planting quite the garden. Upon receiving this image I thought I was never going to be able to do it justice, but my new browns came through and I'm quite happy with the results. My chalked background even showed up, yay!! The papers are from a DCWV stack I got last year and it's full of flowery, gardeny stuff. The card stock is craft...I seem to be on a roll with the stuff, lol, and the flowers are all WOC.

Here's the inside. Go me, I made my first ever pocket card. Been doing this for a year and haven't done one til I made this, and now I may be addicted, lol. Ah, that's how it was with the easel cards for a while too. I even went out and bought a few packs of flowers to put in there. This one will go to my MIL for her B-day or Mother's day, haven't decided which, hence no sentiment, yet!

Here's a close-up. I wish that deep purple would have blended a bit better, but other than that I'm pretty happy with it...maybe I"ll try the blender next time. I used pebbles chalks to makes the sun, sky, and grass and that finished her up.

Here's my copics. Wow, would you look at all of those!! If your wondering if this took me a while, yes, it did, lol. I am a slow colorer anyway, it takes me at least and hour to color a small image this one took about two and a half. Kuddos to all of you who can just zoom thru this craft, I commend you!

Well, I guess that about does it! Oops, I forgot to mention the Int. sponsor is Michelle's Scrapbooking also, but sure to check out the rest of the DT creations, you won't wanna miss out! If you've got a sweet tooth be sure to stop and check out my candy. Thanks for stopping by!

Have a great day!

Hippie Love

Hello my lovely followers and welcome to all my new followers. I haven't had a chance to visit you all yet, it's a crazy week leading to a crazy weekend, but I'll come around next week. Today's first card is....

the adorable Hippie Love which I made for my Simply Sassy Dt Inspiration post. The fabulous papers she's on are the new BoBunny Vicki B. collection...have I said yet how happy I am that BoBunny has started making 6X6 pads! They are one of my all time favorite companies and I despise cutting up my papers and for the most part won't do it, so be prepared to see a lot more from them! Anywho, I've colored my little girl to match the papers added some WOC flowers(green and pink colored to match) and a couple of buttons from my stash. Rhinestones are Imaginisce and set with my I-rock. The tag, behind her, is in a pocket so it does come out.

Here's a close-up. I've been trying to add a little more depth to my coloring and I'm really liking the look. You can see this much better IRL, but it's obviously still not perfected.

Lastly, here are my copics. Seems like there should be tons more considering how colorful this is.

Well, I guess that about does it. I'll be back later today with my Southern Girls post. Thanks for stopping by!

Have a great day!

It takes two...

Hello blogging friends! Today I've actually got a card just for me, or hubby, as it were. I know I've been laxing in using my maggies and and doing anything other than my DT work so I'm trying to break out of that and get some other things done. Anyway, my anniversary is coming up and I thought these two.....

.... would make a great card. This is Waiting Tilda (aren't we always) and Shy Rose Edwin. It took me a few attempts to get them how I wanted them, but the rose just over Tilda's shoulder won out in the end. This card was supposed to go into MDUC's 2 of something challenge, but I didn't quite get done on time...a few issues at the house today and I could've sworn I had until 5pm CST, will remember next time. Ah' well, these pretty papers are from the BoBunny Crush collection and I knew right away I wanted to use them...I love pink and black together and the added red looks fantastic! Lucky for me my Tilda matched cause I fell back into old habits and colored her first. The flowers are WOC and I colored the larger one's to match.
Here's a closer view of the sweet couple. Tried to color them close to real life, lol. I have blondish hair and if hubby didn't have to shave his he'd have brown hair. Tilda's cheeks are a little pink, but I think she looks a little shy here too, so it seemed fitting. Why not a red rose you ask, my fav color is pink so I think to rose should be pink too...can't even remember the last time hubby got me red flowers, lol
Here's the inside, pretty simple, but I wanted to show you the sentiment. Do you have the song in your head now?? I can't get it out of mine,lol...maybe I should turn some music on something else might pop in my head!
Alas, I have copics for you. Yay, me!!(Now I've got London Tipton in my head...idk which is worse) Should share that in order to get that rich red color I first colored the shirt in E53 then with the reds, darkest to lightest. After you've got the reds done you can add more E53 or 55 for even darker colors, just remember to watch for glossiness, when that starts you need to stop.

Ok, well, that got a little wordy, sorry about that. I've found some other challenges to enter and you can find those listed below. Hope you liked my card today.

Thanks for stopping by!
Have a great day!

Wild Orchid: Die cuts(behind Tilda & Edwin)

Simply Tammy

Hello my blogging friends! I've got another Sassy girl to share with you today and that is.....

....Tammy. My card follows the current sketch over at A Spoonful of Sugar and I didn't really add anything too it. I really like these BoBunny papers and how she stands out against them so I decided not to take away from that and leave it CAS. No sentiment yet as I will probably use this for a family member so we'll wait to see which one and use just the right sentiment!
Here's a closer view. This pic is a little darker, but I think you can see the chalk background I've given her a little better. She has a little yellow directly behind her and light to darker blue filling in the rest, it looks very pretty IRL, just can't seem to get it to show up under my Ott lite...love the thing for everything else though! Other than that a little icicle stickles and all done!

Scrap Creations: Anything Goes
Papertake Weekly: 3 of something(3 Dp's, 3 pearls)

Creative Inspirations #55

Hello my blogging friends! It's time for a new challenge over at Creative Inspirations and this week we want to see some Easel Cards! We all love to make them and it seems someone is always coming up with some new and exciting twist on them, so let's see what you got! Here's what I've come up with...
Closed aaaannnd....
Open

I wanted you to see it closed so you could see it is completely caked...so to speak, lol. The papers are from a Martha Stewart stack and they were actually one of the hardest parts of making this cake. I knew some of the colors I wanted to work with...to get into some challenges, but it took a little time to get there. I cut the begining cake shape with my cricut Sweet Treats cart. and then traced it to make my easel form. I also cut all the layers from the original starting shape so I could make them individually.
Here's a close-up of this adorable Tilda. I cut these balloons with my Once upon a Princess cart. onto my x-press it blending card and then colored them with copics to match. I tried to bend them a little bit to add some more dimension(see photo below) and then attached them with hot glue.
balloon dimension
Copic colors used

Well, I think that about does it for my card today. I hope you enjoyed my creation....I actually had something a little more elaborate in mind so I'm going to keep working on this idea. Thanks for stopping by and make sure you check out what the rest of the DT has come up with. Oops, forgot to mention our fantastic sponsors this week which are Simon Says Stamps witha a $10 voucher to their store and Bunny Zoe crafts also with a 10 voucher to spend in her store.

Have a great day!

A little stardust

Hello blogging buddies! I'm finally back with another card. I had such wonderful intentions of getting extra things done this past week, but it just didn't pan out. Lots of errands this weekend and come Monday DD got and I got sick, Oh' if the darn weather could make up it's mind. I think everyone I know around here is sick and tired of being sick and tired, lol. Well, anyway, I suppose I should get on with it...

Here's my Stardust. I had actually intended to make this really elegant card, but somehow I got CAS. There probably would have been more fru fru if it weren't for that big gigantic flower, lol. I love it, it's beautiful, but I just couldn't make and arrangement I liked around it for some reason and the ones I come up with just seemed like too much. Of course now that I'm looking at it one here, I'm seeing some small touches I could make to spruce it up it a bit...isn't that the way it goes, lol. Ah well, I think she's nice this way too.

Ok, here's a closer view. Sorry I don't have a copic list for you as I actually got an early start on her and was working on two projects at once and all the markers got jumbled together. You can't see it very well, but I've also colored her background with chalks...a mix of really light yellows and purple hues.
The Dp I used is K&Company, organza ribbon and pearls are from my stash, and the flower is Wild Orchid colored to match. All the papers were also distressed with my Tim Holtz distressor and then inked.

Well that does it for now. I was really hoping to get some scrapping done for a BoBunny challenge, so if I manage to feel up to it you'll see that later today. This post is also up at the Simply Sassy blog along with instructions for and envelobox and you can find that here if you need it. Thanks for stopping by, have a great day!

Sweet and Simple

Hello my lovely followers! It's Sassy Inspiration time again and today I've also joined in with the Sugar Bowl challenge using their sketch and CAS theme.
Today I've used the new 'Delicious' stamp. Wouldn't you just love to have that cake. I've a bit of a baker myself, but I have tried one of those topsy, turvey cakes yet, i think they are awesome!
Copics:
Jacket: Black, C9,7,5,3
Shirt: RV02,00,000
Leggings:C3,01 and Blender
Shoes: Black C9,5,3
Coordinating colors with cake!

Here's the full card, def Clean and Simple especially compared at all the stuff I've been putting on my cards lately, lol....Think I'm gonna need to place another flower order soon! Those ribbons are regular ribbons and not curling ribbons, I curled them by getting them wet, wrapping them around a dowel rod, and baking them at 350 degrees for about 15min this will vary depending on the ribbon if you want to give it a try.
The patterned paper is from DCWV otherwise it's just black and silver cardstock. That's all for today, hope you all are having a good day!
Thanks for stopping by!

At last.....

...Tilda!! Oh' it has been some time now since I've inked up one of my darling Tilda's. I haven't stopped buying them mind you, lol. I wanted to enter the Challenge and Dt call over at Simon Says and I came up with this...
I believe she is called Tilda with ribbons in her hair. When I saw her I just had to have her. At least she's gotten inked, most of my Christmas cuties didn't get touched. I had big plans for them, but if you follow my blog at all there's was tons of sickness going on around my household after Thanksgiving and I'm lucky we had Christmas at all.
Anyway, enough about that Simon Says wants us to use Coffee and Cream...You can see those, but I just got this new BoBunny Crazy Love pack in the mail and so wanted to use it...figured a few extra colors would be ok. I also followed the current sketch this week at Just magnolia.
The outside of this card is actually framing the inside sentiment. Which reads:
Sweet Birthday Wishes
for
Sweet, Wonderful
You!
...and was computer generated.
Here is that darling Tilda a wee bit closer. I wanted to keep her quite light and originally thought R20,00,000 would do it, but turns out it wasn't quite pink enough, so I added some RV00,& Rv10 and perfection!! IMP, anyway. Her Legs(tights for me) were colored with E50 and E0000 then gone over with 0 to make them a touch lighter. As a finishing touch to the dress i lightened parts of it with 0. I used R27,24,22,20 and thought it was a little too reddish, so I added RV13(I think, was certain till I started typing in cudda been 14)to make it a little strawberryish in color. The flower is RV14,13,10

Here are the flowers. Worked on this for a while...mostly just moving it around the page, just couldn't decide where I wanted it to go. In the end it landed here and I felt like it needed more and that's how the folded ribbons underneath came about.
The theme this week over a Magnolia Down Under is flowers so I'm going to be entering there as well. I may find a few more and as usual you'll find my complete challenge listing below.
I guess this had gotten kind of long today, sorry about that. Hope you all are having a wonderful and and your week is off to a fabulous start!
Thanks for stopping by!
