Hello Lovely people! I've got some more Sassy inspiration for you today and I think it's safe to say I got a little mojo back for this one....I really like it anyway. I'll just get straight to it for you, so here's the card...
Today I used 'Oh La la' available at Funky Kits here. I went back to my old habits and colored her all up before I picked out any papers, but for whatever reason this is how I saw her, lol. I did have a problem when it was all finished though and that was I didn't want to make this a 'dark' card and none of my papers with black in them would make it otherwise. On a whim I started flipping through my Shabby stack and I had the image there holding it next to the papers and I just thought the pink and blue really accented the gray nicely and I was gonna throw caution aside and give it a go. I love the end result!
I've distressed all the papers and added some stickles to the flowers. The swirls are from a larger Prima swirl that I cut up and the rest of the embellishments are from my stash. This card came together really easy and really quickly and so I stared at it for a long time thinking it was missing something, but I kept trying to add more, but just didn't like it,lol. I guess that should be a sign it's finished., but the more I look at it now, the more I like it.
Here's a closer view of 'Oh La la'. They're not showing up in the pic, but I've added stickles to the hearts in her leggings and the stripes on the sides and also to her belt.
A better view of the flowers(from WOC) so you can see those stickles.
Lastly, my copics. A pretty easy list. Figures I would finally remember to take the pic when I didn't use a million colors, lol. Below you'll find the list of challenges I've entered. Oh' one last thing I should mention...
Thanks for stopping by! Hope you have a wonderful day!
xxAutumn

ReplyDeleteHi Autumn
ReplyDeleteThanks for your lovely comment, I would struggle with this I would love to be able to do shabby chic, I have tried it but it never looks it, I might try it again with this stamp, being french and all that, cant wait to see the new sassy;s on Sat.

I'm glad you threw aside the caution! This is gorgeous & I love how you picked up the pink & aqua colours with your floral spray - the curled corner revvealing them is utterly effective as is the inclusion of little rosebuds to accentuate the one she is holding. As for the tactility of that hat & her dress - it's like that sort of velvety shiny material like velour. Love the sparkly tights - I can see the sparkle but I have an anit-glare screen so maybe that has something to do with it. The way the lace strip leads the eye towards the doily is lovely too & I'm glad you didn't add anything else - it looks finished to me.
ReplyDeleteLovely touch to have the french wording too.

I've gotta tell you, this is one of the prettiest cards I've ever seen...It perfect. I love the little roll of the one corner...and all the embellishments look great. (I have a billion of those pink brads in my desk...gosh, I love those things...I buy them just to know I have them:)...Anyways, I love her in black.
ReplyDeleteBravo, girlie!
