Christmas All Year Long with Magnolia-Licious!

Edited to Add: Made some changes...crackle paint on flowers and 2 more flowers to the grouping.

Goodmorning Everyone! It's the August 25th and time for another Christmas All Year Long blog hop with Magnolia-Licious. If you've just happend upon my blog and want to start at the begining go here. I've got a lot of pics to share with you today so I'll try to keep the jabber short. I've made a T-Slide card today...it's also the Magnolia-Licious Highlights challenge, and was tons of fun to make! Below you'll find a few different views of the card and I should note that it's not meant to have a regular card base, but if I'm gonna take the time to do all that I wanna be able to write something in there.

The Merrie Merrie was actually on the paper already, I just managed to be able to cut it out just right. I did, however, stamp "Christmas"...don't think I've done an easier sentiment, lol

Of course there has to be a close-up of Tilda, I just love this stamp!

Pretty flowers from Wild Orchid. The edges of the cardstock are distressed with Tim Holtz Distress crackel paint in Picket Fence.

Here are the new flowers with crackle paint...thanks to a commenter catching my miswording that the flowers were painted b4, giving me the idea to paint them..Thanks!

The whole card was sprayed with glimmer mist.

Well, that's it for me...I'll had some links and add a little more info later, but it's after 3am and I gotta get to bed. Next stop on the hop is Carissa and I'm sure she'll have something fabulous for you. Thanks for stopping by!
Added: Sorry about the extra pics, but I thought it would be nice to show how the slightest change can make the biggest difference! Now, I'm really happy with the card and I'm loving this crackel paint, this is the first time I've used it...so much fun!

Ok, so here is where you can find the tutorial for this card and I also followed Suzanne's measurements(thanks Suzanne :)) which can be found here. I think I've filled in any missing info now, please feel free to ask if you have any questions!

Have a great day!

I'm Baaack!

Sorry I have been MIA for a while folks...life's been a bit crazy around here lately! We've been getting ready for school, which starts Friday, and had some family come, but I'll be back into the swing of things real soon! Thanks for sticking with me. There's a DT call going on with a new challenge site called Southern Girls and this is my entry for that! I was also hoping to get this into Scrap Girls challenge, but it seems I'm a day late. Anyway, I got this idea in my head and came up with this...hopefully it resembles my idea of a snow globe. Ok, well, there's a few pics today, so I'll get on with it!

Here's a close up of Tilda when the card it closed. I liked the idea of a winter scene behind her and thought that DP was perfect...sorry, I'm not sure where it's from, it's pretty old. The paper snow is DCWV glitter paper and the loose snow is some Diamond Dust and some Holiday snow from Hobby lobby. I have put some polar white flower soft on the bench...so some is always there...and also a few bits on her.

Here's Edwin close-up. Isn't he a doll! This is my first Edwin and I
just adore this image. Edwin is sitting on a velvet ribbon and the red beneath him is a flourish imprinted felt that I found at hobby lobby.

Bet you wouldn't have guessed this was an easel card! I really think this looks just awesome standing up...I'm so happy it turned out the way I pictured it! The snowflakes and the sentiment were cut with my cricut...When it's cold and Wild Card cart.

Here's Tilda in full snow globe mode. The bench she's sitting on is from ATS. Doesn't the snow at her feet look fab!

This is what the card looks like when opened. Sorry, I couldn't get it to stand flipped oopen...probably cause there's so much stuff on the globe part. The little flowery things are from the trim I used to put around the globe.

The snowflakes and the sentiment have raised edges which I achieved by using hot glue...this looks really cool in person. I don't think these pics really do the card justice! All that white paper is completely glitterfied...it's so hard to get that glitter to show. I also put glitter on the sentiment and the red part of the snowflakes.

Ok, well that about does it for this project. Sorry for all the pics, but I had a hard time choosing which ones to use. Sorry it took me so long to get to posting something, but I hope you've enjoyed my card today. I've found some other contests to enter and you can find those below. Thanks for stopping by please feel free to ask if you have any questions!

Lexi's Creations Challenge

Happy Monday Everyone! It's time for another challenge over at Lexi's and this week it's all about orange and yellow. These are colors I use very often, but aren't they pretty together! The image I used is Lexi's Easter Lamb which you can find here. This adorable little lamb actually had eggs in is basket, but hey, why can't we cover those up with a little flower soft and have a beautiful basket of flowers instead.
Here's a close-up of the flower soft.

These flowers are from Wild Orchid.

My papers are DCWV and all the sparkle is stickles. The rhinestones are basic gray. The ribbon is from my stash and the sentiment is computer generated. Oh, I almost forgot the sponsor this week is Joanna Sheen and the winner gets a 10 voucher to her store. So, stop by and see what the rest of the DT has to offer then get your thinking caps on and do some crafting!

Have a great day!

TGF- Grandparents

Today I've got some TGF grandparents for their Farm Fresh Friday challenge. It's a sketch this week...sorry, I forgot to download it. I've had my grandparents all colored up since Monday, but I just haven't had the chance to finish it off...Good for me though since now I get to take part in the TGF challenge.

Here's the close up of this adorable pair. I've paper pieced their clothes(most of them anyway.. not her blouse, slippers, & bottom of her dress). I added some shadowing with E1 to make them a little more realistic looking. Grandpa's pants were shaded with E47,49 and it actually blends quite well, not like it looks...Guess that's the price you pay for having a 18MP camera...it gets EVERYTHING! I've put stickles around all the white pieces and flowers. I popped the two up on 1/16" pop-up squares.

Here you can see a little bit of the dimension.

Close-up of flowers(Wild Orchid)
I embossed the diamond pattern on the white paper with my MS score board. Grandpa's papers were from my stash and Grandma's came from a MS pad.
Copics for skin are YR00, E000,&0000
Grannies hair C7,5,&3
Grandpa's hair W7,5,3
Guess that's it for me today. I hope to get some crafting done this weekend...gotta few maggies I'm coloring up, so hopefully I get the time. Thanks for stopping by!
Have a great weekend!

Golfer Guy

Good day everyone! Hope you all have had an excellent start to your week. Things have been good here, but a little busy. Anyway, I got this golfer dude as a freebie from Kenny K's a while back and thought he'd be perfect for my BIL's birthday card. I haven't colored too many boys and I know nothing about golf, so this was a little challenging for me. I've had him colored up for a couple of days, but just haven't had the time to finish til now.

I decided to base my card on this sketch at MoJo Monday. I think it follows pretty well, but I'm not all that certain about my sentiment...guess I should look into getting some more.

Here's a close-up of my golfer. I tried out a new color combo for his skin, and I think I've found one I really like, YAY! It seems I am forever changing skin tones and never seem to hit the right one. If you're wondering I used YR00, E000 &0000 and I think his skin is perfectly peachy!

I actually remembered to take a pic of the copic's...go me!
Well, that's it, pretty simple since it's for a boy. I'll hopefully be back on here soon with another card for you...it's all colored, just gotta put it together. Have a fabulous day!
Thanks for stopping by!
