Distress Inks- attempt one

I've decided to finally take the plunge and venture into the word of distress inks! I actually started buying up inks ages ago, but just never got around to working with them. I recently saw a gorgeous card on Dena's blog and decided that was it I was going to FINALLY give it a shot. I watched her videos and figured I'd use colors she had used as a starting point.  In the end i basically did my own thing, lol. So, here's my first attempt...

Obviously I have a lot to learn about these inks but I don't think she's too bad for round one. The hardest part I found was keeping a dry enough yet wet enough brush and I don't think this paper was quite smooth enough. Since I didn't have the colors Dena used for skin I opted for Tea Dye, which has a purplish hue once you've used a bit of it, but perhaps it wouldn't have gotten that far if I was better with this technique.

Here's the completed card...

This took me forever to get together, but I was once again determined to get into TOMIC's current challenge and since I don't have some of the things on their bingo board I had to go a route which required metal and that too some digging. It ended up not being much, but there in the upper right corner is my bit of metal...an old part of an earring.
All of the beautiful MME papers have been distressed with my Tim Holtz distressor and then distress inks were also added...even the lace got some, guess I was a little distress crazy :)

That's all for today, but I'll be back soon! Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful day!

Simply Sassy Snowglobe tutorial

Hello all! Today I have a special treat for you! Last year I designed a snow glob, shaker, easel card and today I'm going to share the instructions with you. First, here is my almost finished(the inside isn't done yet) card...

Sorry for the less than stellar pics, but it was super dark out when i finished and it's been cloudy since so I haven't been able to get a better on :(  The show must go on as they say, so I'm afraid you're stuck with these. I've used Sammy from the Sugar Nellie Sassy line for card and you can find her here.

To begin this project you are going to need to print and cut out this...

... template I have made for you. You will need one of these in full form and print an cut a second and just cut out the circle form. Make sure you cut along the outer edge of the lines and  round the bottom corners.

Here is the paper I made and used if you would like it

Other items you need are scissors, ruler, pencil, stiff cardstock(for base),  very small pop-up dots/squares  in two sizes...I used 1/4" and 1/8" thick, and some sort of trim to go around the edge of the circle. Once you have these you are ready to begin.

I have made some videos for you to follow and I'm going to apologize in advance for mishaps with the camera, my little ones, and my dog(she started going crazy at the end and it was because of the camera so there was no getting rid of it). Also it seem Ok, so has replaced hmm in my vocabulary and I said it way to much, sorry.  Now, onto those videos...

Part 1

Part 2

Part 3

Ok, that's it. I hope I haven't left anything out and you were able to understand them ok. Thanks for stopping by I hope you have enjoyed my tutorial and if you decide to make one of these I'd love to see it!

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

Southern Girls Challenge #30

Hello All!! It's time again for another challenge over at Southern Girls and this week we want to see what you can do with Dots and Stripes! Here's my take...

This on resulted in a CAS card for me, but I rather like it. I've used one of Saturated Canary's digi's called Naveah and the sentiment is from Whimsy.  I've added those rhinestones with my I-rock tool from Imaginsce. These awesome papers are from Echo Parks Be Mine collection and I love them!!

Here's a closer view and in case you can't see it there is some stickles on that pretty dress. I'm pretty sure I used C5,3, and 1 if you like the color of the dress, but she's been colored fora while, so I'm not certain.

That's all for me today, be sure to stop by the SG challenge blog to see what the rest of the girls have made and don't forget to check out our wonderful sponsors Stamp Fairy for Int and  the Scrapbox for Auz/Nz.

Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful day!

A Sassy Fashionista and a couple freebies!

Hello all!! Today I've got an older Sassy to share with you. Here is...

...'Fashionista' and you can find her here with Laid Back Dude. This card is a little bit different as it opens when you untie the bow and what's left is the brown layer and the doily. Unfortunately, I don't have any other pics to share with you as out of nowhere I started feeling real sick last night and I had to hurry up and finish this. I also want to do a couple more things to the inside, but I will share them when it's done.
The beautiful papers are MME and the flowers are WOC. I got the little keys and locks and fluffly pearly stuff at my local hobby store(hobby lobby)

Ok, so I said I had some freebies for you,  so here they are...

Enjoy! I've got a few more christmas ones in the works so if you like these be sure to keep watching.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

Hittin' the Town

Hello Everyone! First I'd like to Hi and welcome to my new followers, I'll be around to check out your blogs soon! Hubby's been away this week, so I'm running a little behing. I haven't even sat down at my craft table in days!!
 So, this...

...gorgeous Sassy girl 'Let's Hit the Town' went up on the Simply Sassy Dt blog on Monday and now I"m finally getting it here. I gotta say I really love her outfit, I so whish I could dress the way these Sassy girls do,lol. I decided she was feeling vintage so I picked out these new beautiful Prima papers and colored her up to match.

Here's a closer view, I know those colors are really light, so  I you could tell a little more in this. Those beautiful flowers are from WOC. The butterflies and flourish I cut with my cricut and the Sophisticated cartridge and the others are spellbinders.

I'm sorry to say I gotta keep this one pretty short...I gotta get a little more shopping done before dinner. I hope you have enjoyed her and I'll have some more freebie soon!

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!!

Soccer Edwin and some freebies

Hello everyone!!  Hope you all are having a wonderful Sunday!! Turns out I had the time to post today, so I'm going to share with you a card I made for a birthday party my son went to yesterday. I have to apologize for the pics not being too wonderful, but I was in a hurry and didn't have time to take better ones. Anyway, here is soccer Edwin...

Now I know this isn't anything too spectacular, but it was for a boy and what I'm most proud of is the fact that I designed those papers and tags myself. I've been dabbling a little in this from time to time and I'm finally getting to know PSE a little bit and was suprised at how quickly I managed to get these done. My son's team colors are orage and black, but I made them with black backgrounds to and will post them all below if you'd like to have them, just please give credit where it is due and send people to my site if someone would like them.

Here are the papers in black and orange and the tags are at the bottom. Click to enlarge and save at normal size. They are all 6x6 @ 300dpi and copyright  autumnscreativeside @ http://www.autumn0725-mycreativeside.blogspot.com

Halloween Tilda

Well, I don't know how close to halloween you'd consider this, but it's not a holiday I usually "Do."  Growing up we were allowed to dress up and go trick-or-treating, but that was the extent of it. I know why it originated and have taken the same stance with my children. However it doesn't seem to be about fun anymore and the costumes are getting scarier and scarier and now we participate in Church events. That being said, TOMIC are having extra special challenge and the theme is halloween. I really wanted to participate and this...

Is what I came up with. This stamp is really all I have for anything that could be considered halloweenish, so I went with it. I've made this bag out of a large mailing envelope...really easy, think I need some white ones! Anyway I've colored her up in orange and black and used some awesome fall papers from Glitz design. I made the lace flower and cut the swirls on my cricut. The large brad in the flower was colored with copics to match.

Here's a closer view of Tilda and she does look awfully cute in orange and black if I do say so myself. The kiddos should get some candy at the church event, so I will give it to DD to collect hers.

That's all for today, I've got one more thing, but I will save it for tommorrow or later this week depending on my time. Thanks for stopping by!

Have a great day!

So What

Hey all! Hope you are well this week. I'm running a bit behind posting this, but I've had a million things going on this week. Anyway, here is my Simply Sassy inspiration post for this week...

'So What' is her name and she seems pretty spunky to me, so I wanted to leaver her CAS this time around. I found these awesome MME papers in my stash and thought they were perfect! The mesh is really old ...can't even remember when I got it, but I thought it went well with her. I also found a fab sketch at CLP and knew it would be perfect!

A closer view. I don't know about you all, but I spend a great deal of time coloring my images...the main reason it takes me so long to make a card, so you can imagine I may be a little upset if someone, Ie. DD, decided that she just wasn't good enough and scribbled all over her!! That being said I am now even happier I went CAS since this card has now been destroyed!! 2yr olds, what are you gonna do with them!!

Well, that's all for me today, I hope you like it even though it had a short life :)
Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

Forever Friend

Hello all! I"m going to do a quick post as I've been working on this card off and on all week and was about to head to bed when I realized I was going to have to post this first. Oh' the joys of different time zones! Anyway, over at TOMIC this past week they've had a photo inspiration and a sketch and this...

... is what I came up with to go along. The photo they had up was basically a room with all white antique furnishings and a lady and her cat. To me that translated into vintage/ shabby chic...hope I pulled it off :) and then of course the sketch which I turned sideways but is otherwise the same.

I chose this image because I know cat people tend to have them for life and this Tilda reminds me of little-bo-peep and her lamb who were also "forever friends" as I like to call them. The grass is colored with copics and sadly took quite a long time, lol and the clouds are copics as well. Also, you can't tell all that well in the photo but I put some yelloish chalk on the clouds afterward to give it a more vintage feel.

Alright, I need to get to bed and I have a few more photos of this, but I will post them tomorrow after church. Hope you all are having a wonderful day!

Thanks for stopping by!
