Simply Illuminating...

Hello lovely people!  How are you all today? Well, I hope. It's pretty late at night here and I didn't sleep well last night, so I'm not gonna blather on and just get to it if that's ok.
Here...

....is my Illuminating project. I really wanted to step away from cards for a change and thought this little cutie...'Secret Santa' is her name, would be perfect. I decided to go with traditional Christmas colors this time around and I'm very happy I did!
Oh' I would like to add that one I got her on her my DD came over to me at my table and said" Look, Mom, a princess!", it was sooo cute. I can't believe she only just turned two. Maybe your children said all kinds of stuff, but rest assured my boys were not talking like that at her age,lol I really love just watching and listening to her. Lately she's even been thanking me for doing her hair, isn't that cute :)
Ok, ok, I said I was gonna keep it short. So I took a bunch of pics of this and really couldn't decide which one I liked the best, so here are a couple more views...

It's kind of an awkward shape to photograph. So, um, I guess I should also note that those flowers were colored to match and that trim is from my local hobby store. I've placed rhinestones all the way around the  candle...which is battery operated I forgot to mention, so here is the back view...

So, that should do it. If you ever decided to make one of these I def recommend using the battery operated ones as there are more decorating options and you can give them to younger children as well. I personally live in tornado alley(power outages are common), so it's really a great idea for all my children to have access to something like this. If you wanna check my post at the Sassy Dt blog I've left some short instructions there.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

Colorful Christmas...

....or is it, lol I got a little carried away with the crackled paint, lol You may have seen this...

on the Sassy Dt blog on Wednesday, but I've been very busy since then and haven't had time to post here until now. Honestly I was probably making myself busy more then anything as it's still sweltering hot where I live(in the hundreds here people) and our A/C went out not to mention we had a terrible wind storm and lost shingles on our roof and as a nice little topper Ants have decided to make my home their's...it's been a great week!! Anyway, they say it comes in threes, so fingers crossed that's it for a while.
I really enjoyed making this card, just wish I'd toned down the paint a little, but hey, it's really snowing now,lol The papers, now a little hard to see, are from BoBunny and Fancy Pants. I love that were now using all sorts of colors for Christmas and it's no longer just about red, green, and blue.

Here is a close up of 'All Spruced Up' as she's called and I colored her as I envision my little DD some years from now.  I've created the snow with polar white flowersoft  and then added icicle stickles(on the paint as well) I've had those cool snowflakes for a while and lucky for me they matched just perfectly and I'm down to only 3 :(   I do have a cricut so I can make my own, but it's so much more time consuming and I'm a slow crafter as it is,lol, but I guess I don't have a choice now.
Ok, well that's all I got for now, I gotta make a little Dora card quick and it's off to a pool party this afternoon...it's supposed to be 106 degrees, so a great day for that! Hope you all have a wonderful weekend and I got  a couple new Sugar Nellie digis to work on so hopefully I'll have them early next week. Oh's I almost forgot, there's a new GIVEAWAY going on at the Sassy Dt blog starting today so go check that out!!
Thanks for stopping by!

Hello, Lovely People!! It's time again to release some more Simply Sassy's  and these are sure to DELIGHT!! So, have you been enjoying yourself so far?? Aren't these images just fantastic?? Oh' we ALWAYS  say that I know, but Krista(Sassy artist) just seems do out do herself with each release!
Ok, well, I know you've got a few more stops to make, so I'll get on with the show...

Meet 'Christmas Kisses' ...the perfect Christmas girl to give the one you love! She was such a pleasure to color and I loved that the papers(Basic Grey) I chose had so many colors for me to choose from. I've kept the embellishments simple to better show off the image, but I think with all that glitter it doesn't really need much else, lol.

Here's a little closer view. I decided to give her darker skin and hair and I love how it turned out! I really suprised myself with the color choices for her outfit, but I stepped out of my comfort zone and am happy to say I'm loving the end result!

Here are my copics and that does it for me. I hope you are enjoying the hop your next stop is the wonderfully talented Lou. Don't forget, there's a complete set of  this release up for grabs, so if you wanna chance to win be sure to leave a comment  on all DT and Guest Dt members blogs and the Simply Sassy Dt blog before Monday mignight GMT which is 6pm CST here in the US.  If you can't wait, get you stamps now at

Opps, I forgot...

Been so busy getting my shelves restocked and my kids back on some sort of schedule I completely forgot to make a couple of posts. So, 1 was my  Sassy Dt Inspiration for this week and that was this...

It's a bookmark with a special little twist...

...It's magnetic!! I'm not a big fan of tassles and my 2yr old is, so I had to think a little outside the box here. Lucky for me I had some thin magnetic sheets lying around so I cut and extra strip of paper for the back of the bookmark, folded it, then added magnets to the insides and taped that to the back of the bookmark. There you have it, and easy peasy bookmark that won't fall out!!

Receipe:
Stamp: Guinevere  by Simply Sassy for Sugar Nellie

BoBunny butterfly stamp from Gabrielle collection
Background words stamp by Glitz Design
Tim Holtz Distressor
lace from stash
thin magnet sheet

Ok, secondly, a new challenge started Wednesday over at Southern Girls and the theme is anything goes. The two fabulous sponsors this week are The Stamp Fairy and Simply Betty so I'm sure you won't want to miss out on getting one of those prizes.

That should be everything I forgot. Life should be back to normal next week, but be sure to tune in tomorrow as were having a Simply Sassy new release blog hop and I'm sure you won't want to miss that!

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

All that glitters...

Hello my lovely followers it's been a while, sorry about that, I had to unexpectly join my kiddos on thier vacation as DD got real sick. I've been here a little over a week and and I forgot to post my Sassy inspiration post last week, sorry about that. Ok, well, on to the card then...

This is Fashionista and you can find her at Funky Kits here.  This card is really pretty IRL and this pic does not do it justice.
These pretty papers are from Kaisercraft and the embellies are from misc. places.

Here is the standing easel view of the card. These don't usually photograph well, so I didn't want to put it first.

A close up of Fashionista...as you can see she is not short on glitter herself!! I really love how she turned out and I think I've said it before, but I really gotta use purple more often, it's such a pretty color.  It was a litle bit of a challenge finding purple paper, but so worth it!

Well, that's all for today. Sorry to say there's gonna be aother bit of space on here as I won't be heading back home until this weekend. I'll see you next week with some more inspiration and things will get back to normal after that.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

Following your dreams and 'The Cake'

... Isn't that something you think about when you think of Amelia Earheart?? Well, it is for me. What an inspirational woman she was. Never letting those rotten men get in her way and doing what she loved!! Well, as you may have guessed it, today I've chosen ' Amelia' for my inspiration for you all and here she is...

You can find this beauty at Funky Kits here. I've made my own sentiment and am going to use this for a graduation card...I think she quite represents looking to the future!
The papers I've used are from Basic Grey's Capella line and I've inked up all the edges and used kraft for the base.
When I colored her I got her all done except the cloth on her arm...I knew I wanted a splash of color, just hadn't decided what yet. In placing my flowers I found I really liked this not quite burgandy color and went with it.

Here's a little closer view...I"m thinking there may be a little too much green now, but at least I got that splash of color in and that makes me feel a bit better. The clouds aren't actually that white, I've darkened them a bit, but it's not showing for some reason. Life will go on!

Here are my copics. So proud I've actually been remembering to take the pics lately!

Well that does it for cards for today, but before I leave I wanted to share with you a pic of that cake I promised. I meant to get it up here sooner with a whole post on Tillie, but I've been crazy busy and things are just not going to slow down as I'm getting ready to take a little trip so, here's the cake...

It was supposed to be way more spectacular than this, but I ran out of time due to my A/C going out and had to improvise. Not as fantastical to look at, but so incredibly yummy. The bottom cake was white from scratch and the top was strawberry. The icing was buttercreme with a few liberties and so delicious...I can't stop eating it,lol. Hopefully I get another chance to make this the right way, but luckily she only turned 2 and loved it!

Here's what she looked like at the end of the day when all was said and done. All dirty and sticky haired, so I think she had fun! If you've been folling me and your curious to see how she's changed since last year check out this post here.

Thanks for stopping by! Be sure to check out the Simply Sassy DT blog to see all the inspiration that's going on over there. Also, it is gonna be quiet around here for about a week due to my trip, but I'll have lots of goodies to share with you when I get back so stay tuned!

Have a great day!

Creative Inspirations #60

Hello everyone!! First I want to start by saying Happy Birthday to my beautiful daughter who is turning two today!! Didn't know what I did before I had a sweet baby girl to play dress up with, lol. I will be back later with some pics of her cake and a little tribute to her, so enough for now and on to business. It's time for another challenge over at Creative Inspirations to and this week we have a no cooking recipe, as follows:

Must have a cupcake, ribbon or lace, 2 flowers(um I forgot that one, bad me), and pearls.

The sponsor of this challenge is Robyn's Fetish and the winner will receive 5 digi stamps and 4 digi stamps and a paper pack, wow, what a prize is that!!

Ok, so this challenge was a bit of a struggle for me cause with DD's b-day coming up I  wanted to make the card for her and non of the images seemed appropriate and I only had one with a cupcake and couldn't(have told myself I can't) buy another. So, time to put my thinking cap on! Finally, Thursday, this thought occured to me...

This is Fairy Tale Tilda and she is supposed to be holding a little frog, but I thought how perfect are her hands to put a cupcake in them! So, I inked up everything but the frog...this took a few tries, then penciled in a cupcake and went over that with a copic multi liner. Wish I'd had a smaller tip, but I don't think it looks too bad all done.

My Dp is DCWV and is actually only one sheet and I really cannot believe I pulled this off using only one Dp! The stickers are from K&Company and I've cut out the butterflies with a MS cart. and my Cricut.  All those pearls are Imaginesce and are put on with my i-rock.

Here's a little closer view of this cutie!! Think I'm going to have to make some more of her holding the cupcake, I really love the idea!!

My copics...pretty easy to figure out I think. I will leave you at that today! I'll try and be back later today to show you that cake, but if I don't make it, it should be up on Monday. Thanks for stopping by and don't forget to go check out what the rest of the DT has come up with for you.

Have a great day!
