DD's Birthday Party...FINALLY

It's a week late, but we finally had her party. We would've had it on time, but she was still real sick so I decided to hold off. Tillie is much, much better now and thought she didn't get into opening the gifts she really enjoyed her cake!

Here's my little Monkey b4 cake and presents!

Here she is with her pile of presents.

The cake! Can you believe this took me like 8 hours. OMGoodness you'd think it would've turned out a little better, lol. This is my first fondant cake and I had a lot of oopsie's and couldn't quite do everything that was supposed to be done cause I didn't get a couple of key ingredients...that's what happens when you take four kids with you...but I will try another one of these sometime as I think they have real potential to look good.

Let's eat cake! This was sooo cute. This first thing she did was pick off all the flowers and eat them, then she tried to get pieces off the cake...the fondant gets kind of hard...So, she decided screw it and just leaned in to take a bite out of the cake! Kids are so funny aren't they!

She discovered biting it wasn't gonna work too well either and dug in!
That's it for me today, hope you all had a great day!

Lexi's Creations #15-Buttons and Bows

Hello everyone! It's Monday, Memorial Day, here in the US and it's time for a new challenge at Lexi's. This weeks challenge is buttons and bows with a Lexi image only. The sponsor this week is Letraset, the maker of Pro Markers and the winner will receive the Summer set of 5 markers and a black fine liner.

This week I used Lexi's 'Butterflies" digi. I colored with copics to match the MME paper best I could.

I took this close-up so you can see the stickles I added. I covered the wings of the butterflies completely and for the flower I started at the tips and the pushed the stickles in. Guess that's about it. The buttons are from my stash and the punch is MS. Be sure to stop by the rest of the DT to see what they've made. Thanks for stopping by!

Tayla Eating Watermelon

Happy Friday everyone! Sorry this is coming so late, but I've had the worst migraine today. It seems to have gone now, so I figured I'd better get to it. First off let me tell you there is a blog hop going on now through next Thursday, June 3rd at Sew Many Challenges and there are prizes to be won so be sure to to go over there and check it out! So, here is Tayla Eating Watermelon from Sew Many Cards.

I followed the sketch below from Sketch Girl.
I added a ribbon and the handwritten sentiment.

Here is a close-up of Tayla

I think this will be a great card to invite someone to a cook-out. Don't forget it's also Freebie Friday so you'll want to go to Sew Many Challenges to pick that up and check out this weeks challenge and awesome prize! Hope to see you there!

Duncan with Boy from SMC

Here is Duncan with Boy from SMC. I think the coloring is a little to be desired, but my blender ran out and it was too late to go get one and of course my colors just weren't working for me. I also should note that I added those freckles...I just think these kids look so cute with freckles...maybe it's because I have them, but thus far none of my kids do. I always hated mine, but they are so cute on kids! Anyway, I based this card off the sketch below from Taylored expressions.

I had to move my embellies because of the image I used, but otherwise I think it follows pretty well. I also made this monochromatic to go with the challenge at The Wild Flower Patch...all my colors are from the E color family. The folded paper you see is some packaging material I saved thinking I could use it...yay, I did!
Recipe:
E 000, 11, 13, 29, 33, 37, 49, 50, 51, 53
Striped paper is from Imaginesce, the other I've had for forever
Flowers are from The Paper Studio and MME
button from my stash...really need to get me some twine
Thanks for stopping by. Hope you're having a great day!

Candles

I told you folks I would post the rest of what I 'made' for my neighbor, so here it is...candles.

I've made a couple of these before, but they turned out much better. I got different candles than the last time, and I think the wax on these just started melting too fast....They got pretty warped around the image. These were expensive candles, so I had to find a way to go with it. I decided, sans wax paper cover, to heat the entire candle to even it out, then made the drippings on the top to make it look more like a used candle...These are battery operated candles so this would not have happened over time.
When they were all done I set them on a rectangular glass plate and added some glass stones and that was it. My neighbor loved it and has already set them up in her house.
I also gave her a little friendship plaque and put it all in a craft bag that I had spiced up.
The stamps I used for this were from Autumn Leaves, MS, and Fancy Pants...there's also stickles around the outer edge of the big heart. I'll be making some more soon with different candles and I have a better idea in mind for those, so stay tuned if you like these.
Thanks for stopping by,
Autumn

Sweet Dee Dee

Hello everybody! Hope everyone had a great Monday! Today I have a the sweet little DEE DEE from TGF for you. My awesome neighbor has been taking my kids to school for me and so I am making her a little gift. This is the card to go along with the gift and I will share the rest as it gets finished. It's gotta be done by tonight so I'd better get on with it.

Once I decided on using Dee Dee I checked out the All That Scraps challenge blog and decided to play along with that as well. The challenge at ATS is to use dry embossing. I have 2 different embossed papers...For the dark paper I used my cuttle bug and the lighter paper is Bazzill that already came embossed.
Here you can see I've popped-up Dee Dee's hair and bows...I think this adds a nice little touch. I cut the little banner with my Cricut and the Mother's Day cartridge. I didn't want to do layers for the banner so I cut the bottom layer and shaded with copics the parts that would be shaded. I added stickles around the edges and in the shaded areas then glimmer misted the whole thing. The flower is one of the Primas I just got from Suzanne and I cut the leaves with my Cricut and then embossed them. Think that's about it, I have a lot to do, so I'll list my copics later.

Thanks for stopping by,
Autumn

Call me a Pyromaniac!!!!

A little bit ago we had a fire in our backyard and I decided it was time to try out my new camera at night. I took some pictures of our fire, and today I decided to play around with them a bit. Here is what I came up with.

This one is my favorite! Isn't it great what you can do with photo editors!

Enjoy,

Autumn

Winnings, Thanks, and a few ramblings

Yay...I got some winnings today!!!!! So, a while ago I won a comment contest on Suzanne's blog wining me a Tilda with Spring Bundle stamp and an SEI paper pack and I got those in the mail today and she even included some prima roses...Thanks bunches Suzanne!!! Then, last week I won a 2+ layer challenge at Little C's and won Pink Cat Studios Lily & Billy Sweethearts set...too cute and Jen even sent me her cute little card she made Thanks so much Jen!!! If you've never heard of Little C's be sure to check out her challenge site and her store as she's been having an awesome sale going on!
I also need to say thank you to Club Anya and Friends as I won the contest they posted on Mother's Day called Because I Said So...Basically we had to let our kids pick out items and then make a card using only the things they picked out. I have three boys old enough to participate, so I was a little worried, but, I guess I made it work.
Thanks you also to everyone wishing me and my daughter well. I am feeling much better today...finally caught up on some rest. Tillie's spirits are up, but she is still dealing with chest congestion and a cough hopefully it will all be over soon.
One year ago today my DD blessed my life by coming into this world so I need to say Happy Birthday Tillie...I love you bunches!!!

Then ....

Now

I have loved watching you grow!

I will leave you with that, hope you all have a wonderful weekend!

Sew Many Challenges #14- Anything Goes

It's Friday, yay, the end of the week is here! Plus, it's also time for a new challenge at Sew Many Challenges! The theme this week is anything goes. The sponsor this week is Bugaboo stamps and the winner will receive 7 digi images of their choice from the Bugaboo shop...WOW, can you believe that! Thank You, Bugaboo!
Without further adu`, here is my project

I've had this frame from Michaels laying around for forever, and, what better time then now to utilize it! I knew what image I wanted to use for the frame, but had no clue what I was gonna do about paper, so I put the Baseball Bear kit(shown below) to work! Everything(including the background paper...don't you love what you can do with digis) on this frame was made using the Baseball Bear set from the march release at Sew Many Cards.

Here is a close-up of the bear...isn't he just adorable! I love this set even more now! I've never made my own paper before, but this was pretty fun! Incase you're wondering, I shrunk those bats down to about 1"x1 1/2" and just placed them randomly in a new 8 1/2" x 11" template. I printed it out in black and white and colored them ALL with my copics...that took a while. I think I need to figure out how to color well with my program, but at least this got the job done.

The bear, bats, and diamond were also re sized to fit my needs. So, other than that, a lot of coloring and that's about it. In the end I think I've got a great little frame for my boys' picture. Hope you have enjoyed my project, don't forget to see what the rest of the DT has made. It's Freebie Friday today as well, so be sure to stop by Sew Many Challenges to get that!
Thanks for stopping by,
xxAutumn

SMC Dino Reading

Good evening everyone! Sorry I am a bit behind this week. My poor DD is still sick...it's been about a month now...I think we will be going back to the Dr's soon. As if that wasn't enough, I have picked up a virus myself and have been pretty miserable this week. Anyway, I have finally gotten something done!
Here is:

Dino Reading from Sew Many Cards
I got on the net a bit earlier in the week and searched out some challenges and made this card with them in mind. However, I didn't pay much attention to all the days they were posted so we'll see how many of them this still works for.

One specific challenge was to make a bookmark card so that's the base of my card. This is actually a really simple card to make, so if you know any readers out there I recommend this one. I got the directions from SCS here. This is colored with copics, sorry I didn't take a pic, but I will list them up here later. This is the first time I've done a shadowing of any kind and I've seen this one around, so I thought I'd try it out. I really had no idea what I was doing...I just starting making little dots. What do you think, does it look right...any tips?

Here is the bookmark part. I've left room for personalization or a little saying, I haven't decided which yet. This is going to my little brother whom often feels left out cause he's so much younger, so I thought he'd enjoy this. I guess that's about it. I've left this pretty simple since it's for a male child. Thanks for stopping by, I hope you are having a great week!

Lexi's Creations Challenge #14 DT Card

Well, it's Monday and were half-way through May already, can you believe it! It's also time for another cahallenge over at Lexi's and this week we have a sketch for you.
Here's the sketch

Here's my take on it

Personally, I have a really hard time with sketches, but I think this is a really good one and once I FINALLY got my papers picked it all went pretty smothly. So, this is 'Ellie blowing bubbles' and you can get her at Lexi's Doodles...isn't she cute!!!

Here's a closer look. I don't know why I colored her pink, but for some reason I really wanted to do a pink elephant and I think she turned out pretty good. Also, you can't really see it in the pic, but I've put some glossy accents glue on those bubbles and it really looks cool in person. I'll list the recipe below. The winner this week gets a 10Voucher to One Stop Card Crafts. Thanks for stopping and make sure you check out the rest of the DT cards, you won't want to miss them!
Have a great day!

Club Anya: Because I said So

I came across a fun challenge at Club Anya the other day and just had to join in. This challenge was posted on Mother's Day and is called Because I Said So. We are to let our kids pick our ingredients and see what we can come up with. So, here is what I made:

I got really lucky here when my four year old picked the papers. I thought having him pick the papers was gonna be a bad move, but he was only interested in looking through one pad, so they all match, yay! My two older boys were supposed to pick the stamp, but they couldn't agree , so my youngest chose from their two and so we have Soldier Ian

Here's a close-up of Ian. I have to say I didn't know what I was gonna do with at soldier card, but, my husband does happen to be a soldier so I figured I'd make it their Father's Day card.
I had one boy choose a punch...It's a good thing I don't have a lot of them. Then I let them all choose an embellishment. Right away my Jake said,"I want that", and pointed to the ribbon...one down. My oldest Hunter took a little more time deciding and wanted to look through everything. He started picking out rhinestones and had bunches of them and that's when I decided I was going to have to limit the number of embellies they chose or I'd never have enough room! I said he could choose three things and he picked three rhinestones. My youngest picked flowers, a red one and two pink ones at first, then, my oldest said they don't match and I told him if he wanted them to match he had to talk to his bro about it and if he didn't want to change them we wouldn't. Well, he got lucky and Alex picked 2 new colors.
That's it for this, I guess. Sorry this has been kind of wordy, but I thought it would be fun to post the story behind the card. I didn't get the copics photographed but I'll list them up here later. Thanks for stopping by. Hope you enjoyed my card and the story behind it.
Edited to add copics
E:000, 11, 33, 50, 51, 53, 57,49
R00, B21, C7, 100
G:12, 24, 28
For the really dark green I added C7 and 100 to the greens I used
Have a great day!
xxAutumn
This may not be the best card, but why not enter it into some challenges and get something for my boys if I win...they'll love it!

Jovi with Girl from SMC

I'm finally back and had a little time to craft today in between taking care of the fam and taking my daughter to the Doctor's. My DD is still not doing so great and had to have a chest x-ray today...not fun for a baby! Anyway, today, I have Jovi with Girl from this year's March release at Sew Many Cards.

Here is a close-up. I've had this image colored up for a while now and did not write down the colors, sorry about that.

The DP are from DCWV Spring stacks, flowers are Bobunny, and the glimmer on her is embossing powder. There will be a sentiment on here, but I couldn't decide which one to use so it will come later. Well, that's it for me today, as I still have tons to catch up on and my DD is actually sleeping so I gotta make use of the time. Hope everyone is having a great week!

SMC Challenge # 13 DT Card

Happy Friday folks! Today, it's time for another challenge at Sew Many Challenges, and we wanna see some Christmas projects! The sponsor this week is Stitchybear Stamps and the challenge winner will get three free stamps from Stitchybear Stamps. I chose to make a simple card today as I generally make some 50 cards for Christmas so I need something easily reproduced.

Here is my Hershey in stocking

I colored Hershey with my copics(pic below), embossed the white parts with some snow embossing powder, and scattered some pearls around him to resemble a snow fall. That's it, short and sweet and ready to be done a bunch of times.

Here are the copics I used. The card base is a DCWV A5 card from a Christmas pack. That's it for me, make sure you stop by the rest of the DT to see their creations. You won't here from me again until next week as I'm taking a little vacation(I'm actually on it right now). Hope everyone has a great weekend and we'll see you back here next week. Don't forget to check the Sew Many Challenges blog to see if you've won my image, Kasey the Kangaroo, from last weeks blog hop.

Thanks for stopping by,

Autumn
