The sewing continues...

...and boy has it been a while since I've posted on here. Sorry about that all, but this latest project took me a little to finish and I got a photography job in the meantime which gave me more work to do so it's just been busy, busy, busy over here. At any rate I think those of you following my sewing adventures are going to love this new one...I know I do :) Well, I won't keep you waiting any longer, here it is...

Oh' I just love this pic of my Tillie too! I thought her expression was just perfect. The colors here are a tad off due to some photoshop actions used, but I love the end result! Oh' and I made the pretty hairpiece too! I even hand curled all those feathers...that was a blast, not!

Here's another shot...

... and the this is pretty much what the colors look like. I love, love, love how this turned out and she got tons of compliments when we went out. This outfit here is going to run around $60USD depending on the size and goes from 18mos to a size 6. My daughter is  wearing a size 4T which is the store size I would buy for her. I have a size 24mo already cut out in this same fabric, feel free to message me with any inquiries.  Sorry for the little sales pitch, but I get so many people interested when we are out and I still don't have business cards made...I know it's terrible, that I thought I should put it out there for interested folks.

I have more in the works...a modified pillowcase dress that's almost finished,  another romper, but pants,so adorable though, and some top and capri sets. I'm also going to be working on some neat military camo sets so stay tuned for that. This is all for today, I'll be back into those paper crags soon, I promise:)

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

Ruffles, Ruffles, and more Ruffles...

... It seems I've got the sewing bug, lol. I've made Tillie another dress(number 3 actually) and I even sort of came up with this one myself. I got the basic layout from another Create Kids Couture pattern, but used different fabric and changed the measurements and came up with this...

... I know this isn't a full shot, but the ruffles go down to around her knees and that's it. I really liked this pic and started editing it first and my back can only take so much so I haven't gotten a full length one done yet. I did her hair really cool too when she wore this and people over it, so here's a shot of that...

...I found it on uTube and it's much easier to do than it looks.

Ok, well that's all for me today. I'm not sure when I'm gonna be back with another paper craft probably at least a couple of weeks, as I keep on getting asked about her dresses so I've decided to try and make some for sale.  Since I was planning a yard sale in May I'm going to try and do them at the same time.  I will post more clothes as I get them done and I'm still having trouble with my etsy shop, so if you see anything you're interested in let me know, I'm looking into what else I can do.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

Saying Goodbye to Southern Girls...

... and of course in it wouldn't be me if I didn't get my days messed up as this was supposed to go up yesterday, ugh...sometimes I wonder what's going on in that head of mine. Anyway, I've had a wonderful run with the lovely ladies over as Southern Girls but the time has come for me to say goodbye. To Tracy and Lou, thank you so very much for hanging with me for so long, it's been a pleasure working with such sweet ladies! If any of you ever has the chance to be on their DT, take it! I don't think I've been on a more understanding and supportive DT and quite frankly isn't that what this is all about.

Well, I won't babble on for foever. The theme this week is: Fancy Folds and our wonderful sponsors are Delicious Doodles for NZ/Aus and The Paper Shelter for Int.

I got the pleasure of working with an image from Delicious Doodles and here's what I came up with...

With Mother's day fast approaching, I thought I would get a head start!

and opened...

... there is a really great poem  I found on the left, I will write my sentiment in the middle, and the little section on the right is a pocket holding a magnetic bookmark...mom's an avid reader. I'm going to do more with that bookmark too, but my mom (hi mom), reads this and so I didn't want to reveal everything...hope you can understand.

Ok, so that's all from me...my apologies to the lovely ladies as SG for being a day late. If you haven't checked out their challenge yet please be sure to do so.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

The Dress...

So, I told you all what seems like ages ago that I was going to make my daughter a dress. I finally managed to get it finished just before i got the flu and then my DD got sick and we had some bad weather so I didn't get pics until the week of Spring Break(last week). I'm happy to report the dress turned out beautifully...and that's not just my opinion, lol, I was told by several people if I had more they would buy them so, I'm thinking about starting another venture. So it makes me a little nervous to show you all here, but here goes...

DD likes to call this her princess dress and she loves it!! Thank goodness! I actually used two different patterns one for a peasant dress found here and the other was for a skirt wrap found here both from a wonderful store called Create Kids Couture. The patterns are downloaded and you print out the pieces you need and the instructions are clear and to the point and filled with pictures, so easy. I got most of the dress done in one day and the skirt I made for DD at christmas took me three and  that was mostly because I couldn't understand the instructions.
Ok, so I let DD have some fun in her dress too, here's a couple more pics...

She quite enjoys twirling in this dress and I actually made a whole photo strip of it, but it wouldn't fit on here...at least in any size you could see very well, so I opted for just these two. Be on the lookout for more pretty dresses to come and hopefully I'll be able to sell some in my ETSY shop. It's empty now, cause they seemed to have changed things since I last posted anything and I can't seemed to get my pics sized right so they won't upload...if I make them any smaller they are going to disappear, so I don't know what I'm doing wrong, but it's sucking! Hope you all are well!

Thanks for stopping by and taking a look today. I should have some more paper crafts up soon!

Have a wonderful day!

Sporty Guy for Saturated Canary

Hello all and thanks for stopping by my blog today! I was so pleased when Krista said she chose my idea for her new release and oh' how I love him...and I hope you will too!  I'm running a little behind today, so sorry if you've had to come around twice, I overslept and still had to take pics and deal with four kiddos in between(its spring break here, so my apologies). Without further ado` though here is my Sporty Guy...

Isn't he just adorable!! My oldest is always running around the ball court with his tongue hanging out and I keep telling him to be careful about that, but it sure makes a cute stamp, doesn't it! Looks like he's concentrating real hard I think. These papers are from a MME stack and I thought they fit the bill nicely. I have a closer shot too and I'll be back in a minute with that, but I wanted to get this posted. Thanks again Krista and for all of you interested the stamps should be in the  Krista's shop soon!

Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful day!

Flowers for you...

... because I'm blue. My dear blogging friends March has just not been kind to me and one thing seems to go wrong after another. I got sick last week and just as I thought I was on the mend the ugliness really showed up and just yesterday spent the first day out of my room since Sunday. I sorely miss my crafting but when your tummy feels all blah it's hard to get anything done. At least I am out of my room again today and actually hope to leave the house...we'll see how that goes, but we do desperately need some food. Hopefully today brings with it the ability to eat some food with flavor and NOT feel sick and a good outlook for tomorrow...at least I'm still out of my room :) At any rate I wanted to let my regular visitors know I haven't dropped off the face of the earth and I hope to be back soon! Until then...

...I at least found you some pretty flowers taken a few years back. Hope this month has been kind to you and I'll be back asap.

Have a lovely day!

A little something to get by...

... because I'm on the mend, or so I hope. As some of you may know I've been struggling with some really severe back pain for some time now and last week I started physical therapy. Well, turns out it's gonna get worse before it gets better :(  The first day(last Tuesday) was good, but then things went down hill and by Friday I could barely move my arm...luckily I had my second appointment then, but unfortunately I've still been in a lot of pain and my husband had to leave town on Saturday so to top it off I've got four kids to myself...what fun! I've been taking it easy so as not to aggrivate anything and it's feeling better today, so i think my plan is working. I suspect after tomorrow's appointment things will really be felling better and I can get DD's dress finished...so close and it's looking good, yay, and then back to some paper crafts.

I didn't want to leave you all in the lurch having finally gotten back into the swing of things so I thought I could at least share this pic with you that I took a few years back. Maybe it's not your cup of tea, but I really like it. This is actually a reflection in a mud puddle. Just amazing where you can find beauty sometimes isn't it. Oh' and that really is the sun not my flash, to me, this was just a perfect shot! Hope you like it! I'll be back as soon as I can.

Tilda Celebrates Friendship

Hello all! It seems I've finally got all gears up and running again, lol. I REALLY enjoyed making this card and I hope you like it. I actually started this a while back for a TOMIC challenge, but  I must have run out of time cause it didn't get finished. Well, I decided to take another look at it and I had to finish some coloring and I chose some new paper and it went from there. This...

... is what I came up with. It probably doesn't look like much from the outside, but it does have one little suprise....

.... it opens to this beautiful image and I didn't want to take away from that, so...

...it opens again.

I'm also happy to report I was able to work it into another TOMIC challenge. It was so fun to work with all those pretty spring colors...I'm so over winter!  It really took forever to get everything sitting "just right" but I'm glad I took the time to make it work.

I'm not really sure the best way to tell you about everything now as I really haven't set this up the way I usually do. All the gold accents are from WOC as well as the flowers. The stamped images are Magnolia(Secretive Tilda and Bird Background) and are colored with copics...sorry most of this was colored when I started so I don't have all the colors. the sentiment is from Whimsy and the die cuts are from Magnolia.  The pretty papers are from a 12x12 stack by KandCompany called watercolor boquet.

That's all for me today. It will probably be a week before I'm back again as I'm going to make a dress for my daughter and that may take me a while...I'm not the best sewer, but I'm determined, lol. I'll post pics when it's finished.  Her Christmas skirt turned out pretty good as did the stockings I made so there's hope for me yet. Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful day!

Southern Girls #38

Hello again blogging friends! I told you I would be back again...tho I'm a bit late I'm afraid :( Had to run some errand and then apparently my son had soccer sign ups today and they didn't send anything home about them, so with no paper I'd forgotten they were coming. At any rate i'm here now and this weeks challenge is: So distressing

We have some fabulous sponsors for you this week:

LOTV for NZ/ Aus participants and

Kenny K and Little Claires Designs for our Int participants

Here is what I've come up with...

using DANDELION CLOCK from LOTV.  I've distressed the edges of the papers with my Tim Holtz Distresser  and then inked them with distress inks.  I've colored her up with copics and left it pretty simple(for now)...I tried putting something in that upper right corner, but nothing made me happy. However it still looks plain to me so don't be suprissed if I update this :)

Well, that's all for me today. Make sure you stop by the Southern Girls blog to see the rest of the DT creations and see if you can win!

Thanks for stopping by and have a fabulous day!

Magnolia Love

Hello my blogging friends. So much for my being back, huh. It's been crazy around my house and to be honest I've had a bit of a time getting back into things after my time away plus I set out to make some gifts for some people in may family and I got stuck. I felt like if I started anything else I wouldn't get back to it and to be honest...maybe it would have helped. At any rate now they are still not completely finished because we got hit with some really cold weather and I can't clear coat them in the cold, grr. However, I figured at least they are otherwise finished and I can move on.

So,  I've actually had this....

finished for several days now, but I've been swamped. I followed the current sketch at CLP and this actually would have been done sooner were in not for those two pieces of ribbon on the side.  I looked and looked thru my stuff before I finally spotted that ribbon and then I wasn't sure if I could put it that far down, but i figure were usually allowed some leeway, so I went with it.

Here's a close up of the adorable pair...

Don't you just love them?? I just had to have them! funnily enough I colored them up to resemble skin and hair colors of my husband and myself, but I will never give it to him, that would just be a waste. He does not appreciate these things at all. Although, maybe he will start... Yesterday my daughter and myself took him some homemade chocolates, a ballon, and some other goodies and he came home and said he was the envy of the office.

Ok, I think I've done enough blabbering now, sorry about that. Clearly I don't get to talk to people enough, lol. Hope you like my card, I'll actually be back a bit later today with another. Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful day!

I'm finally back with a fun challenge from Southern Girls

Hello my lovely followers! Thank you all so very much for hanging in there with me from my long absence. I did end up taking that vacation back home and really needed to spend time with my family so I stayed away from the computer.
However, I can tell you more about that later cause right now I need to tell you about the new challenge going on over at Southern Girls.  We have some fabulous sponsors for you this challenge and they are Tickled Pink Stamps and Artful Crafts for Aus/NZ and Meljens for Int entrants. The theme you must follow to join in on the challenge is WOW or White on White.

Here is what I came up with...

Using Little Lolita Ivy from Tickled Pink Stamps. I like to use a lot of sparkle on WOW cards and I remembered I had these pretty MS butterflies and they were perfect! So it's pretty simple, but I like it.

That's all for me today, but I have to make four birthday cards so I will be back soon! make sure to stop by and check out the rest of the wonderful DT creations at Southern Girls and join our challenge!

Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful day!
