Sew Many Challenges New Release Blog Hop

Happy Friday everyone! What better way to start the day then with a blog hop to see some awesome new images from Sew Many Cards and a chance to win a prize. You have to comment to win, so if you started at Sew Many Challenges and are arriving here from Anita's blog you are on the right track, if not, go to SMC and start at the beginning. So, what's the prize, you ask.... $10 to spend at Simon Says Stamp will be the grand prize, and each DT member gets to choose someone from their comments to win the image they are showcasing...How cool is that! Now, before we continue on to my project you may want to grab a drink and a comfortable chair as I've got a lot of pictures...I think you'll appreciate them though.

Now, I introduce you to......

Kasey the Kangaroo
Isn't Kasey just darling!!! If you've been on the hop you know Kasey is only one of the many adorable images that Sew Many Cards creator, Angela, has come up with. I have showcased Kasey in my first ever pop-up card and scene card all rolled into one. I can't believe I had this vision in my head and it actually turned out, yay! You know what's even cooler, I made most of this with my scraps...Isn't it soo exciting when you find yourself using your scraps!

I said I've got a lot of pictures, so I'll try to keep the banter short. I thought I needed this one to show the whole card.

I think this one shows the dimension a little better...I was having trouble with shadows...to be expected with this type of card, I suppose. I also think the clouds showed up really well in this one and I'm quite proud of them so I wanted you to have a good view of them. I made the could myself on blue watercolor DP. I used a little puffy ball with some white ink to shape them. I let them dry a little bit then added a few accent spots and sprinkled(a little bit in between my fingers) with a winter embossing powder that had silver in it, and embossed.

You have finally reached the end and here is the card all folded up. I thought everyone might be curious to know how to give someone one of these cards...I know I was, lol. I didn't use any sort of tutorial on this so I came up with the outside on my own as well, so, I don't know how anybody else does it.

It's also Freebie Friday at SMC and challenge day. Would you like to win the entire line of new releases from Sew Many Cards AND a special discount code to use for the entire month of May for 45% off all your digital stamp purchases??Then join us for an easy peasy challenge!! All you'll need to do is submit a project using a Sew Many Cards image!! ANYTHING GOES...BUT it has to contain a Sew Many Cards image on it!!

Well, that's it for me, your next stop is Carol and don't forget to comment to win. I hope you have enjoyed my image and my card. Happy hopping, and good luck!

Have a great day!

~Autumn

Jayden With Butterfly Shaped Easel

Today, I bring you my first shaped easel card. The image I've used is 'Jayden With Butterfly' from Sew Many Cards.

I made this card by first cutting a circle card base with my Wild Card cart. and my cricut. Next I cut two flower shapes with the Accent Essentials. I used one flower for the top and placed the second on the bottom inside of the card. After getting this all adheared together I cut a circle and centered it on the flower.

After adding Jayden I added the flowers from my stash and adheared them with hot glue. I felt it still needed a bit more and after some thinking I came up with the buttons and glued them around the outside of the inner circle.

A little sentiment on the front of the card, a space for writing on the inside, a button to hold the easel shape and done!

Recipe:
DP from DCWV stack
Buttons from stash
Flowers from stash
Basic Gray pearls
Copics:
E:50,51,53, 11, 33, 37,57,49
Y:11,21,35; G:02,17
R:83,85; V:000,01
Hope you have enjoyed my card today!
Be sure to stop by Sew Many Challenges tomorrow for the new release blog hop and a chance to win prizes. Thanks for looking!

Sew Many Challenges #12 DT Card

Hello everyone! It's Friday and it's time for a new challenge at Sew Many Challenges. This week...Anything Goes! Don't you all just love to be able to decide what you want to make! I know I do. Here is what I came up with:

I was trying to come up with a little something different this week...and, I think I did. I chose 'Girl with Heart' as my image this week. Isn't she sweet...You can get her here at Sew Many Cards. I'm not really sure what to call this, it's just something I made up, I guess.

Here is the card opened. The two pieces are held together by a brad so you can just turn the top to the side to see the sentiment. I liked the idea of giving this card to a child and writing something special for them inside. I know kids like to hold onto things...especially cute pictures, so I added a ribbon on the back so it could be hung and used as a decoration on the wall or door. This card is hanging in the first picture...neat idea, I thought.

Here is a close-up of this cute little girl.

My Recipe:
DP is Daisy Bucket 'Playful Petals'
Cardstock is DCWV
Image on Neenah classic crest solar white #80 paper
Copics:
Skin: E53,51,50, then all over with E000 to add a little pink
Dress: R35,32,&20
B00,02,05
YG03,06,09
The heart was embossed with pink embossing powder.
Well, I think that's all my info. Make sure you check and see what the rest of the DT has for you. The sponsor this week is KLM Designs and this weeks winner will receive 3 free digis....you want a shot at those, don't you. The challenge ends next Thursday the 29th, so get your thinking caps on and head on over to Sew Many Challenges and enter for your chance to win!
Thanks for looking and I look forward to seeing YOUR creations!
Have a great day!

Challenges:
HFOS: Use Up That Stock
Pile It On: Spring

My First Tilda

My first Tilda! It only took all day, but, I finally got more and better pics up for you to see.
Tilda has been sitting on my desk all colored up for at least a couple of weeks now and I don't know why I chose to color her dress green, but, I did. I think I had just gotten these colors and thought...Hey, that could be cute. Well, I think I was right about the cute, but I sure had a heck of a time finding the right paper and more so, embellishments, to go with her.
I'm still not sure I'm on board with the blue embellies, but there's a little bit of blue in the Basic Gray paper, so, I thought I'd go with it. What do you think, does it work?
The green cardstock is Bazzill. The cutouts were all done on my Cricut using the Storybook, Plantin Schoolbook, and Once Upon a Princess cartridges. The embossing was done with a cuttlebug...my newest toy...it's about time I got one. The punch is MS, flowers are Bobunny, and ribbon is from my stash.
Here is a close -up of Tilda
I used a new skin color combo on Tilda and I wasn't sure about it at first, but I think it's growing on me. I used E53,51,&50(darkest to lightest) then all over with E000 to add a little pink. Her cheeks were done with R20. Her dress is YG67, G24, &12 (darkest to lightest). Tilda's shoes were done with E49,29,37,&13; I used the same colors on her hair except for E49 and I added a little E33.

Last but not least, this is what it looks like when opened. Well, I think that's all the info I've got.
Oh', I almost forgot, and since were on the subject of Tilda, I wanted to give a big Thank You to the very kind and generous Suzanne Dean! I have won some awesome blog candy from her...Tilda with Spring bundle and a lovely pack of SEI paper!!! I can't believe I forgot to mention it on my blog earlier this week. Anywho, Suzanne was one of the first few people I started following and I just love her stuff! Suzanne is UBER crafty and full of helpful tips too. If you've never checked out her site go here...you won't be disappointed! Thanks bunches Suzanne!
Thanks for looking!
Have a great day!

A funny story... I was sitting here, uploading some more pics and my 4 year old comes over to me and says, "mom, please will you help me to draw Rintoo, HoHo, Tolie, Lulu, and Kai-lan." Apparently he thinks I can do anything, lol. So, since he asked so nicely I decide to give it a shot and considering I've got enough talent to copy pretty much anything I can look at they didn't turn out too bad. Anyway, I gave it to him and he brings back Lulu and say's, "Hey, she's supposed to have a balloon", well, she didn't have one in the pic I copied, but that didn't matter to him...now, she has a balloon. Aren't kids funny! Well, I just thought that was kind of funny and thought I'd share. My little Alex, makes me laugh daily....why would anyone not want kids!!! Also, I've posted some new pics. These are professional-type, as I am not a professional, of my kids. Take a peek if your curious...even if it's just wondering what my kids look like, lol.

Just Magnolia's First Birthday

Just got done going thru the Just Magnolia Birthday Blog Hop and it was amazing! There's still some time and some awesome candy up for grabs, so be sure you check it out! Click the blinkie to get there!

Sew Many Cards: Eris With Flower

Happy Tuesday, everyone! Today, I have the adorable 'Eris with Flower' to show you. You can get this cute little Elephant at Sew Many Cards.
This isn't actually the card I had in mind for Eris...I was gonna follow a sketch, but I was going thru my paper and just putting Eris on top of some papers and fell in love with this look. I love how it looks like she's sitting on a bed of flowers and leaves. My Eris, here, is kind of big, so that meant I couldn't follow the sketch and had to do my own thing. Unfortunately , this made my card take a little longer as I never want to enter just ONE contest so, I had to search around for more. Don't you just hate it when nothing seems to match your card! O'well, I think the end result here is cute and I've got a couple to enter so I'll just have to live with that.
Anyway, on to the card. I've colored Eris with my copics...love those things, and put her on the Bobunny 'persuasion' line paper. The plain card stock is from a DCWV stack. I've put a random pearl, colored with copics, in the center of the flower. The buttons are from Bobunny and the sentiment is from Inkadinkado. Well, I guess that's about it. The card is pretty simple, but cute and alas, I'm not so good with lots of stuff on my cards anyways.
Don't forget, there is still time to enter the 'Sketch with a Mother's theme' going on at Sew Many Challenges and the prize for that is three free digi's from Sunshine Stamps!
Last but not least, my copics:
C: 1,3,5,7
R81
RV: 00,02,04
B: 000,02
YG: 06,09
Y35
100
Challenges:
Meljen's Designs: 3D Elements
Paper Sundaes: Anything but people

My photos

In case anybody is interested I've decided to share some of my pictures with you. I dabble in photography and have gotten some pretty good shots over the years. Today, I figured out how to make another page within my blog and have posted a few pics if you would like to look at them. There will be a link on my right sidebar that says My Photos and the different categories will be listed below it. I will probably have several different categories to make it easier to view but please bare with me as this is a learning process and I'm sure to make several mistakes in getting this all done. I will be adding new pics periodically so make sure you check back. I'm sure all be doing a lot more in the coming days and then will taper off a bit, but for now if you want a peek at things that are coming go ahead and take a look. Feel free to leave me any comments or tips if you know anything about photography. I am self taught in this field and I'm open to construcitve critisism. Hope you are all having a great day, now I gotta get LOADS of laundry done!

Lexi's Creations Challenge #12: Recipe 3,2,1

Good morning! I hope everyone had a great weekend!
It's challenge day at Lexi's Creations and today Lexi has a great recipe for you:
3 papers, 2 embellishments, and 1 image.

The sponsor for this challenge is the Stamping Boutique and the winner gets to chose 5 free images...how great is that! The Stamping Boutique has a great variety of images so be sure to stop by there and see what you could win.

I made my easel card with the adorable image 'Lillie With Tulips' ...Isn't she just the cutest! You can find Lillie and much more at Lexi's shop, Lexi's Doodles.
Here are some more shots of my card:

For my card I used patterened papers from Sandylion "Lollia" collection that I've had for ages...It doesn't show that well in the pic, but the colors are actually very bright lime green and teal...The blue cardstock is from Canson...also had that for a while...so, that's 3 papers.
My two embellishments are my bright yellow gingham ribbon, that I got from Hobby Lobby, and my pearls, also cheapies from Hobby Lobby, that I colored with my copics to match...I so love this technique! Then, of course, my adorable image 'Lillie With Tulips' by the uber talented Lexi.
The punch I used is MS and sentiment cut-out was done on my cricut with the Mother's Day cartridge. The sentiment is from the TGF buddies stamp set.
I was thinking I didn't use THAT many copics so I didn't take a pic...turns out it's more than I thought so now I gotta list them all out for you, sorry this makes it a little bit longer.
Copics:
Y:000, 02, 11, 35, 38
YR: 04, 68
YG:03, 06, 09
RV:00, 02, 04
The yellow 35 & 38 are on the orangier side and were used with the oranges for the bill and feet.
Well, I think that's about it remember Lexi's challengs are bi-weekly and start on Monday's.
Thank you for stopping by, I hope you have enjoyed my card and enter the contest.
Feel free to leave me any questions or comments, your feedback is always appreciated!

Have a great day!
Autumn

Sew Many Challenges #11- DT Card

This week at Sew Many Challenges the challenge is ' A sketch with a theme, " Mother's Day". I had a lot of fun coloring a cute image ,called 'Grace feeding Jaden', and you can get it here. The sponsor this week is Sunshine Stamps and the winner will receive their choice of three digital stamps from the Sunshine Stamps Store. Here is the sketch:

This is my interpretation of the sketch. Because of the image I chose I had to turn the sketch. I've also posted a close-up of the cute little image, and the inside that I just made short and sweet.

The Front: The designer papers I used were from the Basic Gray "Sugared" collection. The buttons are BoBunny and I cut the letters on my cricut with the "Mother's Day" cartridge.

Close-Up, Don't you just love this image!

The inside of the card is pretty simple. The sentiment is from the cricut "Mother's Day" cartridge.

Here are the copics I've used. I tried to put them in color groups to make it a little easier. There's actually one more, the darkest green, but I seem to have misplaced it... Guess I know what I'll be doing tomorrow, anyway, I don't remember the number but it is called Moss Green.

Well, I hope you have enjoyed my card. Now make sure to check out what the rest of the DT has to offer, you can find them by clicking the badges on the right. Then, you have until next Thursday the 22nd to enter the challenge. Don't forget, today is also freebie friday so make sure you stop by Sew Many Challenges and pick it up.
Good Luck!
Have a great day and thanks for stopping by,
Autumn

Life Continued...

Man, I feel like such a let down lately. My poor daughter though, lately, it seems to be one thing after another with her. My little girl had to be rushed to the hospital this morning cause she could hardly breathe. Turns out she has croup and will have to sit by the vaporizer and be watched like a hawk(as if she'd let go of me) until it's gone. I have been working behind the scenes this week, but it's DT stuff and cannot be posted yet. I was hoping to get that out of the way and move on to something else for you all today, but right now I am doubtful that will happen. Maybe she'll be so exhausted she'll sleep well this afternoon and I will get to everything. Didn't want you all to think I was getting lazy, just gotta deal with the kiddos sometimes. Hope you all have a great day!

Flutterby Anya Project

I finally got my project done! It's taken me lot longer than I thought it would, but my daughter has been extremely needy the last couple of days and that has left me with little time to work on this. I attached a lot of pictures so you will hopefully get the whole view.

The container I used is an old formula container. It's amazing what you can do with things like this!

These first pics are a top and side view.

The reddish color on the butterflies does match a lot better than it shows, but there is only so much you can do when taking a picture. I tried to get the photos as close to reality as I could.

Next, I have pictures of the lacing I did and the flower with the butterfly that are on top. All the butterfly shapes were cut with my cricut Home Accents cartridge and then hand colored with copics. The large butterfly on top also has legs that I shaped with jewelery wire and then glued inbetween two butterfly cut-outs. After coloring the butterflies I embossed them with a mixture of embossing powders. The flower is made by some flowers I bought at Hobby Lobby and then took apart to make my own flower. The whole grouping of flowers actually is held to the lid by the brad in the middle.

The next two pics are just close-ups of Flutterby Anya(copyright TGF) and the decorations around her. I was trying to show the glimmer on her and the butterflies and the rhinestones. The rhinestone pattern was done by me and then I glued around them to hold them into place better

This last photo is just for your enjoyment. I didn't think it turned out very well for the project, but I love it as a photo on the wall!

Well, this has been a long post, but I hope you have enjoyed my project! I hope I can get all these pictures in the order that I have explained them as I've updated my blogger and I'm having a little trouble moving the pics around. Please feel free to leave me any questions or comments.

Thanks for looking,
Autumn
