Lady Tilda

Hello everyone! Hope you are having a fabulous day! It is a holiday weekend here in the U.S. and I'm actually out having some fun family time today! However, I do have a job to do and it's challenge day at Creative Inspirations , so lucky for you(and me) we can schedule our posts. This time around at Creative Inspirations we want to see shaped cards. This challenges sponsor is Fantastic Ribbons! Now, on to the card...

I have built Lady Tilda a castle!!! I got this fabulous image from my sweet friend Loz, thanks Loz, and it was between her and Tilda with apple, but my 4yr old assured me that this was the ONE!! I don't know where I get these crazy shaped card ideas from, but the thought popped into my head and it wasn't leaving until I tried it out! I knew I could use my cricut to cut out the pieces, but what about paper?? Hmmm, I don't know. Nothing seems right to me but brick and I don't have that, soooo...onto my photo program I go and make my own. Don't worry, I didn't draw out all those little bricks, that was actually a texture in my program, I just had to find just the right colors and figure out how to add them in. I think it turned out well.

Now, the really fun part, it's an easel card! This part took a little ingenuity on my part, but I've always been into figuring out how things work so it didn't take too long. Ok, so you can't tell, but there are three separate layers to this castle and each is on 1/16" pop-up squares. Sorry I didn't photo that, I can be a doof sometimes and I don't have time to do it now. I thought the castle would look kind of cool if it looked like ivy was all over it so I found a small leafy stamp and stamped around the edges of my castle pieces. I thought the tops of the tears so should look weathered so I distressed them with sandpaper and then colored over it all with Copics W7,5,&3 The fading on the castle is actually the paper itself...thought that would be easier then coloring it all. You also may be able to tell that this looks a little glossy and it is. I had a bit of water splash onto one of my castle layers and had to redo it, so I sprayed the whole thing with a clear top coat

Here is a close-up of lady Tilda and the layer behind her so you can see the ivy a little better. The pearls are from my stash and I colored them with W1 so they would match better. So, that's it, hope you have it enjoyed my card today sorry it's been such a wordy post...I didn't want to leave anything out. I haven't gotten the inside done yet, but I've got to make something on my computer and I ran out of time, I'll try to have it posted on here b4 the weekend is up. Ok, again, I'm sorry about the wordiness, but I hope you liked it all the same. If I've left anything out please feel free to ask and I'll get back to you as soon as I can.
Have a great day!
xxAutumn
