Simply Sassy New Release Blog Hop!!!

Hello Everyone! It's time again for another new Release Blog Hop with Simply Sassy for Sugar Nellie! If you've just happened upon my blog please go the to Simply Sassy Dt Blog so you can start at the begining. If you are coming here from Kellie's blog you are on the right track! Are you enjoying your trip today! Some of you have probably been up for quite some time b4 I am able to go thru and I'm really looking forward to seeing what my fellow teamies have made. Well, I suppose I shouldn't keep you as you've got some more stops to make. Today I have for you.....

....'Bedtime Snuggles' and she should be available at Funky Kits today! Oooo I just love her, isn't she just adorable?? As you can see I decided to go a little different route this time around and I've made a little wall hanging. Not quite sure what I'm going to do with it yet, maybe someone will buy it or maybe I'll decided to keep it for my daughter, we will see.

Here's our little girl a bit closer up. When I started to color her I knew right away I wanted her to have blond hair and blue eyes and to wear pink, so this time around I actually went back to coloring first. The doilies behind her have been inked with cat's eye ink pads and then I added stickles cause, well, you can never have too much sparkle, right???
Here is a close-up of the wording...it's computer generated and I'm loving this font! The beautiful papers I've used are from Imaginisce Fairytale collection from a year or two ago. I have distressed the edges of these with a pewter and a silver and then added stickles.

The flower arrangement. Boy, I worked for quite some time on this, I think it's the largest one I've done...good thing I had all those flowers on hand, lol. They are all Wild Orchid and now I will need to soon be placing another order.

Here's the trim on the edges. The flowery trim is sold by the yard at my Hobby Lobby and is quite expensive, but it's gorgeous!! The pearls are also from Hobby Lobby from their wedding dept. I'm sorry I do not have a list of copics for you today, but if there's something you need to know I can probably figure it out...I did write the hair down somewhere:)
Ok, well, that's it for me. Your next stop on the hop is Erica. Don't forget if you wanna be in the running to win a couple Simply Sassys of your own please leave me a comment by Monday the 28th of February 6am CST then check back later that day to see if you've won...I won't be up at six, lol.
Thanks for joining us on our hop!
Have a fabulous Day!

Fabulous Darling

Hello there, peeps! Time for my Sassy inspiration post(overe here, that is). I posted this yesterday on the Sassy blog, but since I had the Southern Girls challenge post yesterday and you are unlikely to come around twice in one day I thought I'd save this for today. So, for my card I've used one of the new, yet to be released images and she is....
.......'Fabulous Darling'! Isn't she just perfect for that teen goddess we all know, lol She is colored with copics to match the paper and idk if you can tell, but I've put some perfect pearls on her bracelet and ther's some stickls on her outfit.

Here is the card closed. I have once again used the Glitz Design Divia Licious paper pack...think this is the third time I've used this one pack for these images....may need to go shopping soon! Ok, moving on.....
Here she is partly open. Think you can see a little better here there are rhinestones all around here and in the corners. There's also stickles around the black circle and dots of them on the " Who's the fairest one of all?" sentiment...that was computer generated btw.

Here's a close-up of thos flowers. Not my usual EVEN(I have issues) arrangement, but I am liking it. The rhinestone sprygs are from hobby lobby, the flowers are whild orchid and covered in stickles.

Here's the inside. Yep, that's a mirror, lol Kind of proud of myself for that one lol. It's a repurposed mirror, it came out of a wallet I just bought, I didn't have a need for it and ripped it out right away and thought it may come in handy...what do ya know, a couple of days later I was using it. Ok, so I'm now thinking the inside is a bit boring compared to the outside, so I think I'm gonna add a bit more bling, and maybe some black on the bottome, but this is it now. The tag sentiment is computer generated and the Happy Birthday is handwritten...you can also pull that one out to write a little message if you like.
Ok well, I'm finally done, sorry to keep you so long. Hope you've enjoyed my card. Remember the new release blog hop starts on Saturday 6am(CST) and you are not gonna want to miss that. Hope you all are having a fab day and I'll see you Saturday if not sooner.
Thanks for stopping by!

Southern Girls #13

Hello there everyone. Long time not hear from me huh! It aways seems that in the week I don't have many DT commitments and I think I can get ahead and maybe actually get extra stuff done my life goes crazy! Anyway, it's time for another challenge over at Southern Girls and this week we want to see Brads, Gems, or Dew Drops, pretty simple I'd say. So, here is a frame I made for a pic of my daughter......

I didn't do a lot of accenting on this as I love this pic and my daughter in it and I think this paper is gorgeous all on it's own. You will notice a few gems on there and I cut out the word on my cricut.

Here's a closer view of the gems(look there's even on in her hair!!) and the word which was actually cut out three times...the under paper, the center is chip board, and the top layer which was also stamped...which was more grayish until the modge podge got to it lol. Oh' well, I still like it.

Any who that's it, short and sweet today, make sure you stop by and see what the rest of the Dt has made for you and check out our awesome sponsors Wild Orchid(Int) and Artfull Crafts(Aus/Nez) and I almost forgot there's a mini Dt call going on at the mo so be so to check out those deets here if your interested.

Thanks for stopping by!

Sassy Inspiration and V-day gift

Hello wonderful followers and visitors! Today I'd like to share with you my Simply Sassy inspiration post from yesterday and a little gift I made for my sons teacher for Valentines Day. I'll start with the sassy first....

I wanted to try a little something different this time around, so I came up with this, which is a small accordion folder. This can be used for any type of small paper or gift.
My folder measures 5"x5" and was quite simple to make. My base paper was cut to 5"x12"and scored at 5" and 10". I used a score board to score two squares of paper cut 4"x4"...scored at 3/8". I ten folded those and glued just inside the edge and just above the 5" score line on the base paper. Next fold up the other 5" and glue other side of the accordion fold just inside the edge try to match the other as much as possible. Lastly decorate as desired.

Here's what the back of mine looks like. Kind of plain, but I could find something I like for it, I will probably keep looking. The matching brad was made with my I-top brad maker. These papers and embellies are all from an echo park kit. The papers have been distressed with chalk inks.

Here's a side view and you can see there's actually quite a bit of room....I've put about 10 stamped images in there and there's still plenty of space.

Lastly, a close-up of the beautiful Hippie Chick available here.
That's all for my Sassy Inspiration, but today over at the Simply Sassy blog you can see my tutorial on how I color dark brown skin. I will be doing more tutorials with the Sassy images so I'm going to make a separate tutorial page and you will see it there soon.
Next i just wanted to quickly share with you a little gift set I make for my son's teacher. It seems I don't usually remember to photograph these things or my commissioned cards, and I actually remembered, so here is the set...

I got this adorable little mini Tilda from my friend Loz and I was so happy to be able to use them! These pretty papers are from a K&Company kit.

Here's a close-up of Tilda, she was such a joy to color!
Well, this has been a long post, so i will leave you with that. Hope you are having a wonderful day!
Thanks for stopping by!

Creative Inspirations #53

Hey all! It's time again for another challenge at Creative Inspirations! This week we want to see some distressing. We also have two fabulous sponsors this week. Our monthly sponsor Simon Says Stamp with a $10 voucher to their store and Stitchy Bear Stamps has also donated a $10 voucher to spend in their shop. Stitchy also gave us a few images to work with and I've chosen this.....

...image called 'buddies'. For whatever reason i dicided I thought this image would look cook in black and white, so I gave it a shot. I haven't done full b&w before, so I wasn't too sure about the colors, but I think it turned out ok. The papers are from two different stacks and I distressed them all with my Tim Holtz distressor. The words are actually stickers from yet another stack and I put them on paper so I could distress them as well.

Here's a close-up of the couple. Then, I guess that's it, clean and simple today. I think left like this it can be given to a boy or girl.

Thanks for stopping by today and be sure to stop by and see what the rest of the DT have come up with.

Have a great day!

Simply Sassy DT card and an Award

As I was thinking about what to do for my Simply Sassy inspiration today I remembered this little beauty and thought she'd be perfect with Valentine's Day just around the corner :) I will be spending lots of time making goodies for that this week. Anyway, I haven't yet made a card for my hubby and thought I'd take this opportunity to do so.

So, here is 'I give you my heart' in all her glory. My husband loves fishing, so this one's a little for me and a little for him lol. I colored her with copics to match the papers I used

Here is the full card closed. Not lots of fru-fru stuff, I know, but my husband just wouldn't appreciate it and I intend to take it to him at work(he's and ARMY man) and I don't want him to get teased to much :) Anyway, I think these pretty papers are K and Company, sorry, can't remember for sure...they came in a pack and I threw away the wrapping. Also, you can't tell very well from this angle, but the third layer is actually up on pop-up dots so at least I could get some dimension...I have a closer pic of that below.

Well, I couldn't dump the pretty stuff altogether, so I put a bunch on the inside, lol All the stickers you see here came in the kit I bought. I cut the doily looking hear out of one of the papers.

Here's a close-up of the right side where you can see my little box holds a special treat! My hubby is a junk food junkie and especially loves m &m's so I know he will enjoy those!

Here's the dimension. The box is 1/2'" tall and was quite easy to make. In order to the the card big enough to fit over it I cut two pieces 6"x 6&1/2" and glued the half inch sides together. The box actually doesn't have a bottom, just sides and a top and two half inch sides to glue to the card. The drawer is 1/2" and I cut little half circles out of the ends to make it easier to pull out.

Lastly, here are the copics. Boy, can't believe I used more than I had room for..there must be some blending in there I don't remember, lol.
Before I go I wanted to thank my sweet friend Loz for a blog award she gave me the other day, the Love Blog award:

There are some conditions and rules of the award and they are as follows:

You have been TAGGED and want to participate? Then create a post where you post the 'LOVE BLOG' image. You should also blog the persons link that gave you the award and inform her/him that you accept the award. You can then choose 3 - 5 favourite blogs which you also link in your post, then each blogger will inform you that they have been tagged....
Dear bloggers:
The aim of this action is that we bring unknown, good blogs to light, so I would ask you not to blog fellow bloggers that already have 3,000 followers. As always, the hardest part is to pick who to pass this on to, there are so many bloggers I could give it to, so . . .the 3 I have chosen are......
All these ladies have wonderful blogs, so be sure to stop by and check them out! Also this of course reminded me of some other blog awards I've recently gotten and forgot about, so I'll be back later this week with more award recipients!
Thanks for stopping by, hope you're having a great week!

Spread Your Wings...

Hey there all my lovely followers and visitors! It's been a few days since I've posted, but I have been working. I've got lots of pic today, so I'll get on with it.

This is 'Spread Your Wings' from the latest Simply Sassy release which I've made for my Sassy Inspiration card. I've colored her with copics which you'll find below.

Here's the full card. This is called a Double Side Step card and I found my instructions here, but I did change the measurements a bit. I know she looks a little green, but she actually matches better then you might think. The papers are a mix of shades of blue and are actually a little blue/green in places...it's hard to get a good pic at 2am, lol. The butterflies and swirlies were cut with my Cricut and the paper is g.c.d. Ella Blue and they are scrummy!!
My care has a little twist....

The decorative top is actually a tag...I'm very proud of myself for this one, lol! It seems like everyone else is always using beautiful tags on there creations, but I never know what to do with them. This one just fell into place, and I'm quite happy about it...I feel like I've joined a club, lol.

Here's another view so you can see the dimension. The little tag by the front butterfly is actually sticking out a bit. I don't have it permanently in place yet as I'm not sure what it will be used for, so it kept on sliding while I was taking pics.

Here are your copics, there was lots of shading on this one, but if you have any questions please feel free to ask.
That's all for me today. Me and DD are a bit under the weather again, so I'm gonna relax today. Hope you and yours are healthy and having a great week!
Thanks for stopping by!
